If anyone here has ever watched loony toons, merry melodies or ren and stimpy, you have had first hand experiance of raymond scott. Raymond scott created what he called "descriptive jazz". Though he didn't even watch cartoons, Carl Stalling, the musical director of Warner brothers at the time, bought the rights to Scott's music and used it in loony tunes and merry melodies. One piece, "powerhouse", stands out. There are two parts to the song. The first part is often used in "chase" sequences. The second part is often used in "assembly line" sequences and has recently been used in a visa commercial. Scott was way ahead of his time. He created a type of synthesizer called the electronium years before the synthesizer was ever pattented. Scott was a great innovator and musical genious. Check him out!
