Could hypotonia be caused by hot weather? I know the cold weather slows down your metabolism and causes you to gain weight. So could it be that Aspies are designed for the cold?

Can you explain what you think the connection is between hot weather and a neurological disorder of muscle tone?

I thought cold weather increased your metabolism because you use extra energy maintaining your body temperature ? I do hate hot weather because I sweat so much and hate feeling sticky but I wasn't like that as a kid so I don't think it's related to my Aspergers . I also have more rigid muslce tone and was very hyper as a kid, always tightening my muscles or moving .

Opposite here. When its cold nothing goes, becaues my body is complete done with heating myself up to the minimum. When its warm everything is fine and I have energy to do sports, have fun, ...

I'm definitely designed for the cold. I'm just too sensitive to heat and it overwhelms me and I freak out. I tend to generate a lot of body heat too. I've had it checked out and there's apparently nothing physically wrong with me.

I don't recall reading anything about hot weather in particular, but it is a common enough trait that it's documented that many of us seem to do very well in low temperatures - not feeling cold so easily as the typical person might.

All I know is that I live in a hot country and it is hell.

I hate the heat. I hate even more when it's humid--I feel like my skin can't breathe. Plus my eczema acts up. I sweat like a pig but luckily (verified by others) I am fortunate not to smell when sweaty. Good genes and bad genes combined. You can't win them all LOL!

I naturally have very good muscle tone. And I typically do better in the cold -- but not by much. I am super light, so I have issues with the sun.

I hate the cold and hav poor circulation that makes it painful. I love the heat and the freedom to move around without 4 layers of clothes. 1 layer is fine. :D

I'm a cold weather kind of guy. Summer is basically a nightmare for me, I cant deal with it. Heat is system overload for me, :hic:

I love extreme heat and cold, something about it just feels so unique.

Granted I live in canada so we have a great deal of seasonal variability.

It dropped down to 0 farenheit with the windchill. I'm pretty excited.

Everything on this Earth is related to having AS, according to this site.

Hot weather makes me depressed and likely to have meltdowns, but I don't see any connection with muscle tone.

60F is ideal and I love rain and fog. I belong in Europe, not the US.

I did read in the Attwood "bible" that people will AS generally can't stand the heat and humidity. I am sure there are probably exceptions to this rule though. I have no idea how it relates to muscle tone, however.

I know for me, I have excellent muscle tone but I hate the heat and humidity, as my skin is hypersensitive and sweating makes everything stick to my skin which drives me crazy.
