I've been waiting a long time for this interview... I'm not sure I've even got all the papers I need ready!

Whenever the stress/worry about this interview comes up - I just seem to shut down. I can't seem to concentrate on anything... can't sleep... can't search for the last document I need without almost panicking. Damn... I feel like a scared, inexperienced teenager again!

This isn't my usual type of job and I'm not sure I can even handle the pressure of taking life-or-death phone calls all day... I wonder if I'm almost subconsciously sabotaging myself to not get this job due to that fear!

Gad.... I miss my quiet office job where I did my thing and was left alone!

I'm not sure what to do about this dang shutting down... I hate not being able to do the things I know full well need to be done!

[sigh]

You applied because you want the job, right?

OK. So how about reminding yourself about all the things you have going for you? What are your strengths? They would not have given you an interview if THEY didn't think you could do the job too. If you don't find all the papers, do the interview anyway. Offer to call them back and continue at another time if necessary (Don't do that until the end). Remember deep breathing, etc. if you have in the moment anxiety.

Good luck!

Well, at least I found my missing transcripts... one less thing to worry about.

Good luck. If you start to doubt yourself, just tell yourself it's in the bag-- you got this...

Good luck! I have midterms and I also avoid getting to it by watching video clips and listening to music and get stuff done in the last minute. I should really study but I feel panic when I study as well. Chewing gum calms me.

Thanks for the good words, everyone... I managed to get through it with the room spinning all around me. I do NOT think it went well... I'm just not geared to handle the stress of 9-1-1 emergency calls. :(

I don't feel remotely this way for office employment... I don't know why this one overwhelmed me so badly!!
