Roommates, shared bathroom, terrible food.

I especially hate trying to take a shower, there isn't any locking door between me and everyone else on the door as I come out of the shower to try and get dressed.

And people PEE on the f*****g toilet seat, it is DISGUSTING... and nobody knows how to flush.

wow. your dorm experience must be awful.

I'm sitting here in the peace and quiet at 1:00 am. everything has just died down, people stay up in my dorm area til 2,3, or 4 in the morning. on weekends, its 4 or later. we're the party floor, that and the floor below us. The floor above us is the geniuses, who I love so much, they're all enginneers, and great people.........when they're not chasing after me with big foam swords or shooting me with nerf guns.

Yeah, so next year, I'm applying to be an RA. I think I have what it takes to be one. and not to mention you get paid for it and you get free room and board and food. how sweet is that? plus after talking to my roommate of this year, he has agreed to be my roommate next year as well. though even if I don't become one, I'm still gonna keep him. he's a wonderful guy.

I wont live in a dorm. I am going thru this phase where I dont get along with other guys my age. So I would not want to live with guy roomates.
I live at home still.

Could you just wear a bathrobe? And then get dressed in a stall or in your room.

I never got along with guys my age, they're pathetic weak-minded dogs with no real sense of self, they should be silenced by slicing out their tongues.

Aside from that FACT I can't say a girl taking a shower in a dorm without a locking shower door is a bad thing, yummmmmm

This is pretty much in-line with what I've heard, and trust me, I've heard my share of horror stories regarding dorms...one of the reasons I've avoided university thus far since I cannot afford a decent apartment near campus.

I'm never going to live in a dorm. I'm getting a 3-room apartment with my best friend and one of his friends. I can only imagine what crap you're going through :( . Maybe if you get financially stable you can get your own 1-room apartment?

Not with my roommate there and I'm to lanky to dress in a stall.

I wouldn't worry about it, if they don't like what they see, they can look away. You are just as entitled as anyone else to use a stall.

I'm getting up earliest and getting in the dorms late. That way the dorms are used only for sleeping.

Well, that's what I envision as the ideal scenario that would be as much as I could make of living in a dorm. I'd rather not be living in a dorm at all.

Unfortunately, reaching that ideal will be impossible with the programming contract project I'm working on. I have to use my laptop because it has the required software. My laptop with a broken, immobilizing power supply.

My arms and legs are too long, I can't move around in a stall.

It's when they like what they see that I have a problem, it's just disgusting. If a woman sees me than your philosophy is okay.

I would always shower at 1 AM and even then I'd get dressed inside the stalls

Can't you get a single? I have documentation from my Asperger's that gets me my own room. I tried a roommate. Horrible experience. Now, I'm able to be by myself. Turned things around a lot.

I can get a single anyways but it's more than I can afford.

I am probably the only one here who actually enjoys his or her dorm, but I also have a really awesome roommate and live in one of the two dorms that has a reputation for being quiet and relatively peaceful.
