Am I the only one who wishes there just was a book, website, etc where you could read all about a person including details they wouldn't normally share with you and determine if it was worth it to be social with them (or attempt to date them) then all the confusing business with conversations, making good first impressions, body language, etc?

Most people would say thats the behavior of a voyeur, which I agree to a point, or else a stalker but that would make so much sense to me. I'm not talking about perving a bunch of pictures but reading material about their opinions, what they are passionate about, some of their inner thoughts and fears, etc. For example, I rather know a person is a shallow person who wouldn't be able to look past my lack of physical attractiveness or lack of charisma before I actually even say hello to them for example or if the person's beliefs on certain things are too incompatible with mine own, it is a bit difficult to talk to somebody about Asperger's if they believe all of psychology is a lie and just a matter of holistic cures.

I'm hoping one day for the technology to enable telepathy or downloading people's brain data (well the relevant bits for socialising, there would be too much in there to download everyone). That's how nosy I am about what makes people tick.

Theres times I wish I could just look up info about people similarly to how you can easily find info about famous people. It depends how much they put about themselves on social networking sites and if you can dig it up. Just to know the information without having to ask, that would be nice.

Bearing in mind that potential employers scrour the internet to find out information about their potential (or actual!) employees, I definitely think we should be very reticent about putting personal detail on Facebook or anywhere else, let alone publishing our innermost secrets!
