I'm a loner with big ideas and thoughts.
Despite loving a lot of things, I find myself hating stuff more : I honestly hate almost every aspect of nowadays society. Nowadays fashions, trends, ignorance, fears - everything makes me wanna find a bunker and wait there for better times.

And even in this society and culture I'd like to meet and know new people but my disabilities stop me from doing so. I'm pretty much tired of virtual communication since it has been the only source of friendly human connection that I have had since 12 years old.
However previously I've posted a thread asking people if they'd be interested to be my penpals. You know, sending letters in old envelopes like in some sort of 'Mary and Max'. Thread was deleted and I was accused for making people give their personal information to me... I never asked to write anyone's address directly to me or anything but who cares, it's just someone's loss.

Honestly, I don't even know why I'm here, I'm really tired.

(I worry this is going to be one of the crazy, loquacious posts that doesn't really achieve anything as I don't really know how to respond, although I'd very much like to, but here goes...)

I agree, I don't like society much either, I think it's a control thing, because I don't have control over society and what everybody else is doing I worry about it and so consequently hate it as it's not how I would run a society.
I don't really know how to console you in your feelings but I would like to talk to you about society and all that.
Like for instance, in your post you indirectly refer to yourself as a weirdo and I find this interesting. What makes you sure that you are a weirdo? I mean, how do you know 'weirdness' isn't just an idea or word created in order to oppress people's individuality, just like 'slut' and 'whore' are ways or words of repressing a woman's sexual freedom? And so if you believe yourself to be weird then do ''they win''?
And to continue on from this, is society weird for conforming? And why is conformity such a normal thing to do anyway? Just because we've always done it, has it evolved and built into us? Evolution, however, isn't about staying the same, it's all about changing, ''survival of the fittest'' is rubbish! Honestly!
You know, maybe us 'weirdos' are the future, we have to be weird, it's our purpose, if the environment somehow miraculously changes and all these people who've spent their lives conforming maybe won't be able to survive!
I mean, take a look at what's happening in Wales right now, a community decided to conform and not take the MMR vaccine, and now measles has broken out and they've all decided to take the vaccine. Funny that. I don't know, but it seems to me like it's better to be a weirdo, to do what you believe is right is better than to follow everyone else, because you never know... There could be an outbreak of measles!
What do you think?

P.S: I'd happily be your pen-pal! (It's just I don't trust giving out my details on the internet as much as the next guy! Plus I never have the courage to buy stamps!)

The first thing you should know is that you are not a "Weirdo", that is only a word someone like a NT that doesn't understand you would give. If you lived in a country where everyone was like you, you would be the same as everyone else and normal. Here you are as equal is everyone else.

Tanks to everyone for a warm welcome.

@Harry8142 I've answered you personally trough the PM because this discussion could turn into a big off-topic.
@8bitKnight Well compared to whole world we will still be weirdos.

Most people think we're weird because we don't think like them.

I was labeled "Weird" because I don't accept "That's not possible". Anything's possible if you have a large imagination, the brain power, and the knowledge of what you want to accomplish. Having a team that think like you helps, too.

..heh.. one reason I got into a "little bit" of trouble in the Navy. Too many people saying it and I proved them wrong. I got a "Nice job.. Don't do it again." when I tweaked and upgraded a workstation.

Hi Solblu,

I've been called that as well, since I was quite young. Mainly as a result of needing my own space, quiet, and peace. I draw and paint and do many other things. In fact I'm an artist and have been for many years. So I do get that people disappoint me as they don't ever get me. It sounds as if its the same thing for you, that not fitting into the slots that people would like you to makes you different. I think its nice if you can fit in, it makes life and friends easier but not if you have to pretend to be someone that you're not.

I think being called 'weirdo' is an interesting thing for me as I've gotten older, it means that people don't understand who I am, and that can be both interesting and difficult at times.

Finding your own way of being is all that matters. I also think if there were more 'differences' out there the world would be a better place.

Annie

Hello Solblu, still checking this thread? First of all, I'd like to say that I absolutely adore your avatar. I love lain, so much.
Also, though I have not been officially diagnosed with Aspergers, I couldn't relate to you more. I love a lot of things too, at least I think so. Though most would say I have pretty limited interests. When I look at a large portion of society, I also get a sick feeling in my stomach. I don't _mean_ to be so judgmental, but I feel as though I can't help it. I look at these things- especially at most other girls my age- and I can't help but feel like a bit of an alien. I look at them and I think, "why? why are they like that? don't they see how silly they are behaving?" - does that make any sense? It really makes me feel bad. But I'm usually right about these sort of people. I'm not sure if I'd be up for the letters, because I despise my handwriting. (It is very childish and embarrassing.) But If you would still like to PM me, It'd make me happy. Mary & Max was amazing, as well.

Hi solblu
you spelled weird wrong, just for the record

I am the most weird personable on Wrong Planet! :(
I'm finding it harder and harder to post these days as I lose the engagement I once had with the other iconoplasmic inhabitants I previously exchanged pleasingly posturing and perjorative plaintiffs with
