I just went to the hospital for a broken finger. Like always, they took forever to call me back and didnt belive I was in as much pain as I said cause I have a hard time showing it. I also cant explain what it feels like and they keep getting annoied. They even snap at me sometimes. Is there any way I can make hospitalvisits easier on both me and them?

I just went to the hospital Friday for a broken toe and laceration, I took an ambulance so they had me in a room as soon as I got there
they asked me my pain on a 1/10 had me sign some stuff gave me a few injections including a pain killer then off to xray

it all depends on your injury as they go on a triage system. also drug addicts seeking pain medication have cause a problem for injury's like yours its hard to differentiate a person in pain from a drug seeker when the injury is not very viable.

my advice if your in extreme pain and want fast treatment take an ambulance or call ahead. it takes time to get your room set up and those minutes feel like hours when your in pain.

Have you tried leading with "I am a special needs adult... I will need patience as I have a hard time externalizing my feelings"?

Calling ahead sounds good and when I was in an ambulance that went smooth cause of my roommate telling them about my issues. And telling them im a special needs adult seems like it would.work. Thanks.
