Again, it's not a tax. It's a reduction in subsidy. I still think it's an absolute disgrace and telling of an overarching, tax-obsessed state.

Having said that, any suicide like this is dreadful. My thoughts are with her family.

Oh, and you're posting this in the wrong forum. I've already personally been warned about this.

Splitting hairs.

Oh? If this isn't a political issue, I don't know what is.

Shouldn't that be in Current Events?

There's a difference between actively placing a charge on someone and reducing the amount of money they have by other means. It still means less money, but the way it happens is different.

Unless you're going to make a long post with lots of content to go with this story, it's a news article and goes in the News forum. Yup, even political and religious stuff goes in there.

Very sad. that is why I'm on minimal assistance, once you receive someone else's gold you now become their slave
Another way to look at this is to not see it as going backwards. and even so, going backwards isn't necessarily a bad thing. Its life, It happens.
Just learn how to deal with whatever is thrown your way and you will be ok. I relies this is easier said than done, but It has worked well for me

Propaganda of the deed directed at Cameron is the best option.

what about those who are physically incapable of working without assistance due to a disability?

I've heard and read about countless cases of carers and handicapped people who are going to be left high and dry because of this vile and mean spirited cutback.

Yes.

*Moderator notice* If it's just a link, it goes in News. I'll leave this where it is for now, but just so you know.

Doesn't have to be a long post - a bit of commentary would be nice.

As usual, those responsible for the crash are being rewarded for it. Creating a large pool of more desperate people makes them easy pickings. Cameron's class war should cause a Brighton-type response but one that is successful. Unfortunately there's no IRA to defend his victims.

More successful than rendering a politician's wife disabled for the rest of her life, you mean?

That bomb attack killed and wounded other people. Bombs often have a habit of doing that.

If you don't like something or someone, campaign against them at the ballot box. That's what I'm doing at the moment.

Violence generally gets you nothing but more bitterness and violence.

The IRA - like the UVF/UDA - defended nothing and nobody. Ordinary people suffered because of the terrorists.

The IRA murdered and brutalised many, many people inside their own community and outside it - think any number of atrocities - and considered it all 'a laugh'. I wouldn't want vicious, opportunist killers like the IRA as friends.

The price for speaking out against the IRA in the Catholic community could be very high.

Like all other pro-Unionist hawks you obviously have a very selective memory.

The British government didn't have any qualms about working with vicious, opportunist killers when it suited them.

This is from the University of Ulster, before you whine about political bias.

Meanwhile...

Image

"We're all in it together" my arse.

The amusing part is the image of a bunch of cabinet ministers who probably have flash cars, six figure salaries and several homes, sitting in lavish downing street boardrooms going "Nope, theres absolutely nowhere else we can make cutbacks... ...we have to take it from those that are already broke".
