I came across this in looking at histamine: http://roosclues.blogspot.co.uk/2009/09 ... -diet.html is this person for real ?

Cured autism with a lack of histamine ?

thats strange, wouldn't that mean that everyone would be having the same problem, unless there is an underlying condition that causes histamine deficiancy or too high amounts of histamine which mimics symptoms of autism.

i am sure if it made a big difference it would have become wide knowledge and be used a lot by now.

well i have read that histamine is part of the immune response, you know with allergic reactions i think that is where you produce to much histamine, hence antihistamine tablets you can get for things like heyfever, so sometimes histamine is not so good, like with severe allergies to bees or something. i might be wrong but i think thats why people may be looking at reducing histamine.

but with autism, are they suggesting that its some kind of immune reaction or lack of that causes autism, makes no sense at all.

I have no idea how the "blogger" made the link. It all sounds like the usual crap where some Joe blogs discovers earth shattering solutions.

Reading the side effects of anti-histamine tablets they are all in the wrong direction: drowsiness, slower heart beat, from what I can tell histamine is pretty useful to the body but of course if an imune reaction goes overboard it may not look pretty.

I don't think the article itself claims to cure autism with histamine but the heading to the website suggests that the website owner thinks that autism is a physiological problem not a mental one ie typical middle class attitude: theres nothing wrong with my kid he's perfect just like me we can cure it with off the shelf pills so it's not really a mental problem.......

That blogger is genuinely seeking attention. I'll take your word for what s/he says rather than deigning a page view.
