You can take the test here:- LINK TO TEST

I scored max at 40 but feel I should have scored higher as the test questions only go as high as "Often" whereas I would have indicated "Always" if such a choice had been offered.

So, here :- LINK TO ARTICLE ON LONELINESS

is an article that claims loneliness can kill you just as much as smoking can, I thought it particularly interesting that an experiment on enforced loneliness in Monkeys caused them to incite the writer to print the following,
"The most perturbed monkeys might rock, clutch at themselves, and pull out their own hair, looking for all the world like children with severe autism."

Extreme Loneliness

You answered this quiz consistent with people who are suffering from extreme and severe loneliness.

A certain amount of loneliness is a normal part of most people's lives. But when your feelings of loneliness can become a bit overwhelming or more serious than usual -- like now -- it may be a sign that something isn't quite balanced in your life.

You may find that you could benefit by trying to reach out to others in your life -- right now. A close friend or family member whom you trust and talk to can go a long way in helping to relieve feelings of loneliness in many people.

I'm a college student and I still feel very lonely. I didn't realize I actually felt this lonely before taking the test. I guess summer vacation and not having a job doesn't really help with my situation.

I scored a 18. I thought I would get much lower as I rarely ever feel lonely. maybe because I mostly find it hard to have alone time for myself.

38. I answered “rarely” to “How often do you find yourself waiting for people to call or write?“, because there’s usually nobody who would call or write to me. I could have used a few “always”, too.

I score 17, then again, I never care to be popular or social. I Like doing stuff, once a week to every 2 months but not all the time.

Normal Loneliness

You answered this quiz consistent with people who are having a normal experience of loneliness. This is usually not something to be concerned about, as everyone can feel a little lonely from time to time.

It can become a problem, however, if these feelings are long-lasting and don't seem to get better on their own, even when you're with others, friends or family.

That's kind of true; I have been trying to improve on my social skills lately.

30, right on the cusp between extreme and moderate loneliness. I think right now I have more moderate loneliness.

I and the closest friend I ever had parted badly over a month ago, so I am feeling lonely sometimes but also very relieved (it was a horrible, confusing, tense situation before the final blow up). Right now I feel happy being a lone wolf. And very resistant to ever getting that friendly with someone else ever again.

it seems that certain folks were just made to be only alone, IOW not compatible with anybody else on earth.
