I was just wondering if anybody did or didn't go to your proms when you were in high school? I didn't because I had no one to go out with since I was lonely through out high school.

Skipped mine. Had a sh***y experience at a school dance back in junior high, avoided all events like it afterwards. I used to be a little bummed about the stuff I missed out on but, realistically, if I had gone I would likely have had a terrible time and been even more depressed about that.

Never went. , and one person said they would only go provided I pay for everything (her dress and hair styling included). I elected to stay home.

Well, I must be the lucky one then. I went to both of mine, I guess it was sheer luck or a higher power watching over me. My Junior Prom I went out with a pretty girl from Turkey, and my Senior one I went out with a Sophomore. Both of them were pretty good. In both cases, neither one was a steady girlfriend. I'm so sorry the others that have posted so far haven't. :(

I had friends (most of them guy friends), but I never had a romantic relationship until I was 23.

I actually had a girlfriend my junior and senior year, so I went to both my junior and senior proms. She wasn't the best looking girl in the school, and she was learning disabled and in the special ed program, and I was constantly on the lookout for somebody new (who never materialized), but she was my squeeze and we went and had a great time. No sex afterwards, though, she was tired and wanted to go home (she eventually made it up to me). We broke up after she graduated (one year after I did) and I never really had a steady gf after that. The pressure was off, and I kept meeting really strange women, so eventually I threw in the towel.

I know exactly what you mean. Finding women whether you're a teen, adult, or elderly is really hard to do.

Didn't go to the prom. Going there all alone would tell everyone that I was a social loser, not to mention the fact that with the social anxiety I had back then, it would have been a nightmare.

My boyfriend at the time refused to take me to the prom because he didn't want people to know that he was dating me. Needless to say I dumped his arse the same day he let me in on that little revelation. As for the prom itself, I decided to go since some of my friends would be there. The theme was "Masquerade" so I wore a costume to the prom--wore face paint and a mask and gained a lot of positive attention for it. The newspaper took my picture and even printed it the next day. I guess the prom experience wasn't so horrible for me, and beyond that, I can't say that there's any moral to this story.

I had to go my then-girl's prom dspite how much I didn't like going to parties. As soon as I got there, we danced the best we can and hung out the next day...on my mom's dime. When I prom came and she couldn't make it. I didn't trip. At least not over not going. I did a little over the fact that she dragged me to her prom, and she couldn't even make efforts to see mine. I gave my ticket to a high school friend of mine and stayed in watching tv. (Shrugs)
