I minored in Women's and Gender Studies in university, and I am a feminist, so this thread caught my attention.
Oddly enough, most real feminists are definitely not anti-porn, most of the feminists I know actually watch porn themselves, and enjoy it. Modern feminism is anti sex-trade, where women and children are forced into being abused, but pornography has come a long way since the sixties and there's something for everyone out there. The women in it have to be willing participants, by law, at least in North America.
If I've heard "all men watch porn" from anyone, it's been the men who watch porn. The feminists I know (academic feminists, mostly) don't think all men act like anything. Men are as varied and as different as women are. People who don't study gender roles, etc are far more likely to stereotype and generalize than people who are more aware of them.
Just my two cents.
So radical feminists who
are anti-porn aren't real feminists? That's a bit harsh. I don't agree with them either, but they're still feminists. Most of the feminists I know are grassroots activists and they are 50/50 on the anti-porn thing.
I do agree with you in general, however. The 'all men watch porn' thing comes from men who watch (a lot of) porn.
As for my opinion, I think the porn
industry objectifies everyone involved - it's like capitalism at its most crass - but the desire to look at naughty images is pretty healthy and harmless.
