Can anyone still keep a straight face and say that "they" don't want to fit it?

The people behind that mosque are as dodgy as hell, as they have strong links to Islamic fanatics in Bangladesh. There has been a huge amount of aggro about that mosque, as the council has railroaded through a proposal which doubles it in size whilst ignoring the wishes of hundreds of local residents.

Second point being that it was mostly the far-left supporters of the mosque that went to the tea and biscuits party, not the EDL.

What a huge conspiracy. News agencies should be informed immediately!

What is being pointed out far more by genuinely liberal ex-Muslims is that this group aren't some kind of freedom-loving liberal mosque. They are the purveyors of hatred, intolerance and violence, and are not any kind of victims. They're heaiily associated with Islamist fascists both in Britain (think the East London Mosque) and back in Bangladesh.

Political power sufficient to impose Shariah on the entire country. I know, I know. It is not likely. But it is possible.

Wow, do you have a link? I'd like to forward it to the BBC.

ruveyn

You mean not just personal laws for Muslims, but penal laws for the entire population?

I think even you would admit that's inevitable. A majority muslim population will invariably impose religious law followed by restrictions relating to dress, drinking alcohol etc on the rest of the population. A completely muslim country is described as dares-salam (abode of peace) where a non-believer (non-muslim) would not be permitted to live or even enter (such as in Saudi Arabia).

I would like to know ruveyn's thoughts from ruveyn. But it seems that you are also interested in this discussion. So just to make sure that we are on the same page -
You are talking about the UK
You also want to know how much tea and biscuit muslims can spare for their "enemies".
Let me know if I'm wrong.

Do you really think there is a customised version of islam that is applied to western countries? we have areas of Australia (like in the UK) where majority are muslim such as the suburbs of Lakemba in Sydney. Such places Australian women are unable to walk without wearing muslim outfits (even in daytime). Entire areas being purchased for muslim only housing in Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales. These things do concern the rest of us. Cups of tea are very nice but they don't change the plan in the Quran for world domination.

Just as I thought. We are not on the same page. I'd love to get back to you regarding everything from versions of Islam to world domination. It's just that right now me and ruveyn are having a very British conversation, and tea is a very integral part of British conversations. Though I do promise I'll get back to you, just don't want to derail the current discussion. You see, as an aspie multi-tasking is not one of my strong points :).
Cheers!

In the meantime I don't think Ruvyen will be getting back to you, My experience on these forums is Aspies tend to post a couple of times then run away if the conversation gets a little too intense.
