Since they claim sleeping position is connected to personality traits, I'm curious how people here sleep?

I myself switch positions, but generally I sleep on my stomach with my hands at my sides and half the time with one tucked underneath my body.

I am an absolute nightmare when I'm trying to fall asleep and change posture every minute or two. But for the majority of the time, I am on my stomach, with one leg bent at my side and the other laying straight out behind me. I have my cheek on the pillow, and I am always facing the leg that I have bent. One of my arms is hugging/laying underneath my pillow to increase fluffiness and the other is slumped against or under my chest.

how I sleep seems to effect my dreams
if I sleep on my right side I tend to have nightmares
on my left I tend to have good dreams

I usually start out on my back but I don't always wake up that way.

I start out supine, then toss and turn in right and left fetal positions. I make a shambles out of the sheets, tossing them off more often than not.

^this.

I generally finally fall asleep on one side or the other curled around a pillow or less often on my stomach, even less often on my back. But no side is completely left out.

I sleep high on the bed where my shoulders can [when in fetal left or right position] avoid being squished by the mattress, it allows my shoulder to dip into a hole between the mattress edge and the pillows.

Always curled up on one side, hugging pillows. MUST have heavy (but not too thick or scratchy) blankets, even in the summer.

Most of the time I lie on my stomach with my hands under the pillow or under my body. That's the most comfortable and easy way to fall asleep. Sometimes I may lie on my side, either left or right, if my back is hurting a bit.

Because I'm not facing up, I often fall asleep with my room light on.

this has changed a few times throughout my life. the usual was fall asleep on back, wind up on side by morning. then there were a few years where i did stomach mostly.

I recently have been having some back trouble and looked up the going theory on optimal sleeping ergonomics. Apparently side position with some extra support under the neck to keep everything level is the most stable. You're supposed to put a pillow between your knees in that position. For back sleeping, i read that the best for your back is one rounded pillow specifically for your neck, and a flatish pillow that doesn't raise your head too much. In addition, that one calls for a small pillow set under your knees. It took a few nights for me to be able to sleep like that but I've become accustomed to the position now and my back feels better in the morning than it did before.

Here's a stomach-sleeper either :) Sometimes fetal-position, but mostly at my belly, with the blankets way over my ears. Because of that, i can't sleep with a pillow (i don't want to break my neck or something like that )

On my back or my side. Sometimes crossways to the bed with my head hanging off one side and my feet off the other. There have been times when I woke up with my feet and head at the opposite ends of the bed than they were when I fell asleep.

There have also been times when I fell asleep in my chair or on a sofa and woke up in bed with no memory of moving from one to the other.
