Hello there,
I'm CCG - or, if so preferred, Coke, and I am a 16 years old female. I've known about this site for quite some time now, but not dared to register until now, because I tend to be rather hesitant before joining anything. As for my AS diagnose, it was, shall we say, "made official" late spring '06, after a few months of frequent contact with psychiatrist(s).

I'm what one might call a writer. Taking interesting in language. I especially take joy in playing with word-choice and settings in order to try to create interesting approaches to old cliché things.

If to mention my origin, I am of Finnish blood, but I've lived in Sweden all my life. However, my language of choice happens to be English, even though my education is faulty because of my lack of attendance. My attraction to the English language started in late spring '04, when I wrote a story in English for the first time.

Furthermore, I take interest in Asian culture. In more specific terms: Jrock. The favourite band is The GazettE, though I enjoy a variety of other bands as well, as long as the music is good. But if you try to talk about manga with me, I'll probably not be able give any comprehensible reply.

That would be about all.
Thank you for your time. <3

Welcome to WrongPlanet!

Some with AS struggle with language and writing, other revel in it.

Personally I may well die when a pile of books collapses on me, such is my accumulating collection. I've written a little but only had a couple of articles that actually got published for money.

Have you encountered Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett yet?
They are two writers who excel in having fun with words, but Science fiction and fantasy are not areas that appeal to everyone.

My favourite writer would be David Mitchell - that even though I tend to criticise him when writing a book review. Other than that, none that I can name. It's difficult for me, as a Swedish citizen, to buy what I want in English literature, so oftentimes I have to be satisfied with what is offered to me, unfortunately.
And thank you. *smiles*

My sister has books by Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett, though they are the translated ones. Perhaps next time I make a purchase online, I will consider ordering something by someone of them, thank you for the suggestion. I do like fantasy, though more so when I was younger.
I'm interested, you say you had a couple of articles published. May I ask? What where they about? In Sweden it is awfully difficult to get articles published and get anything in return, in terms of money.

Hej och välkommen. :)

Your English vocabulary and grammar far exceeds mine, school was too easy but I've noticed I really suck at writing now. :P *DOH! bangs head on table*

Was it hard to get diagnosed and how long did it take?

Man tackar så mycket. x3

Ah, well, in my opinion, the English education is generally not sufficient in Swedish schools. I would not learn anything from being in class - hence why I now get to read books and/or write essays during class, instead of following the official learning plan.
If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? You wrote about school in past tense, so should I presume you don't go to school anymore?

It wasn't so difficult. Except that I felt bad because they put me ahead of everyone else in line waiting to be diagnosed - it felt like I was doing something wrong by being, as they put it, "ett kritiskt fall". And as for the time, well, it took a couple of months to go through the tests, and then after that they sent me to a doctor's appointment to exclude medical reasons.

I'm pretty old actually lol, 25. Yeah school in past tense as uni was not really an option for me with this thing lingering. Ehrm let's not go into details. True, the educational system is seriously lacking but it's probably also a case of applying yourself. Something aspies are generally not known to do if we aren't motivated. ;)

Hmm kritiskt fall, ja det gäller då inte mig när man blivit så gammal och värdelös. Tack iaf. :P

25 years isn't that old. So what are you working with now? If it's okay that I ask, that is.
Indeed, couldn't agree with you more. I have an average of, perhaps, 30% attendance, yet the classes are fully comprehensible even so, which proves that it isn't even necessary to be there.

Gammal och värdelös? Säg inte det, vi har väl alla något att ge. Anledning var för mig mestadels att de hade en barnslig illusion att allt skulle funka när de visste vad som var "fel" med mig, och man såg ju hur bra det gick.
