I got hurt on the job on march 19,2013. I work in a distrubution center. I am a order selector. I dropped a 50 pound case on my wrist. Now Workers comp closed my claim on tuesday saying they think my injury has nothing to do with my initial injury!! ! I then went to work today and they said Work will not let me come in for light duty any longer. Kinda good news: They offered me two choices. I can either return to full duty or I can see my own doctor and get the recommendation for medical leave which would guarantee my job under FMLA. I need some of your alls advice. most companies the lawyer said that they would have just said oh well you need to go back to full duty then fire you since you can not do full duty so the fact that they offered medical leave shows the good of the company. because I HAVE autism this is really affecting me and I am constantly overwhelmed. I need your alls support and advice please.

i'm sorry :( I wish I could steer you in the right direction, other than to ask what is preventing you from seeing your own doctor about this? lack of health insurance?

Find yourself an attorney that specializes in labor law, workman's compensation and developmental disability law. Most states have a developmental disability advocacy group, so I'd contact them regarding your rights in this matter.

You may want to mention you have autism anyhow, in order to make your employer comply with ADA, especially with your sensitivities.

Medical leave is not paid, can you afford to not have money coming in?
