Writer extraordinaire Richard Matheson, who had given us literary masterpieces like I Am Legend, cinematic screenplays like Duel, and TV show episodes on The Night Stalker, and The Twilight Zone, has passed away. He will be remembered as one otf the giants of the sci-fi/horror genres.

I've recommended him on these forums more times than I can remember. Every time I see someone reading a Stephen King novel, I want to smack it out of their hands and replace it with one of Matheson's.

King credits Matheson as one of his primary literary influences.

Sad news, he was a very good author, I am Legend was massively inspirational to the horror genre as a whole.
