I'll be starting a new Data Entry job in about two weeks where I am already a temp. Every week they have a big staff meeting and I just KNOW that they'll introduce me at my first meeting  . I've already had a few incidents with my coworkers during trips to the bathroom and entering and leaving the huge building at the start/end of my day.

I've tried to make eye contact, but that seems to weird people out, so I went back to the default of avoiding eye contact, but now several of my coworkers think I have something against African Americans even though I avoid looking at ANYBODY. :?

I was going to make a small announcement at my first meeting so that at least there might be some chance for people to understand that I'm just different and that I'm not judging anyone.

I'm sticking with this job no matter what, but would like to work in a place where I'm not thought bad of because of misunderstandings.

Has anyone ever tried anything like this?

BTW: Hello to everyone, I've been reading this site for quite a while, but finally decided to start posting.

Hello & welcome.

What sort of 'announcement' were you thinking of making?
"Hello, i'm .... and i act weird because i have Asperger's Syndrome."
Anything along these lines seems like a seriously bad idea.
Admittedly, i do not speak from experience. ( Never felt the need to justify myself to anybody.)
