I think the general population has about as many cat-lovers as dog-lovers, but here on WP there seem to be a lot of people that love cats! I wonder if it's an aspie thing? Which do you love/like more, out of the two? The "same" option includes loving them equally, hating them equally and not caring about either one.

Definitely cats. I just find them a lot more pleasant. I also find a lot of dogs to be alright, but I can't stand "dog smell" or the sound of barking - it's a sensory nightmare. So yes, cats. <3

With the big exception for my own three cats, I love dogs as a species better than cats as a species.

I prefer cats, the feel of their fur and I love it when they purr. I have nothing against dogs but their coats don't feel so nice but they can be very affectionate as well as violent

I'm a big cat lover. Their coats are very soft, and they even have their own bathroom. :cat:

The Internet likes cats. Just look on any other forum...

I like them both but I prefer to have cats. I don't like that many dogs drool, have flatulence and don't "have their own bathroom" (thanks, WitchsCat).

The Lab Pet LOVES animals. All animals! I voted that I love cats & dogs equally. For dogs, I especially love hounds. I had a borzoi hound - LOVE them. And cats! Right now I do not have any pet due to my lifestyle :( But I do have fish. Two are catfish, Morten and Seuss, my favourites. Really miss having an animal.

So many animal lovers on the Wrong Planet, and I know lots of cat lovers!

Well, that's unusual! How does someone who love dogs more get 3 cats? Of course if also have 4 or more dogs that would explain it.

WitchsCat, I love your avatar and your signature line cracked me up! I saw it another topic earlier and it prompted me to create this one.

Cats. I'm actually scared of dogs.

Thanks! I actually found my signature at goodreads.com. I thought it was a good quote, so I thought I'd use it as my signature.

Dogs. I don't get cats at all. They're extremely unpredictable and changable, "blow hot then cold", and I have enough of that in daily social interaction -- I don't need that with my pets.

That said, I can appreciate the fact that they're fairly independent and have soft fur.

Looks like hale_bopp not only got a nice discussion thread going about this a while ago, but even summarised it in a YouTube video: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp3381201.html#3381201 She even dressed up as a cat - now that's good research presentation. :)
