I still don't know whether I am or not, but today was my first day operating under the assumption that I am.

There was this tree I saw this morning -- one tree among a row of trees. What stood out about it was impressive coat of browned leaves. Where I live -- in a temperate zone -- in the winter, this is rare. Every tree on this particular street was barren, save for this one pillar of courage/defiance. It was love at first sight.

Naturally, my first reaction was to raise the question "Why?" -- that is, "Why are you the only tree in eyeshot with any leaves at all (and it had nearly a full coat!)? Had I the means, I'd have taken air flow measurements and soil samples on the spot. But alas, I'm poorer than the day I was born. It's probably best I let this one go anyway -- I'm so far behind in my schoolwork, it's absurd. So I convinced myself to allow the romantic answer... This tree is an Aspie too.

With smilin' eyes,
Wendell

Now go write my SAT essay...

...just kidding there. The emotional grasp you have on that observation reinds me of the type of thinking you're expected to do on the SAT essay, where you're given a topic and often have to defend it using personal experience, facts, or the like.
