I'm confused. Why would anyone tell you to be emotionally against cute things?

what a strange thing to say to you!

I mean I can get a bit nauseous from too much cuteness, but to say you should be emotionally against cute things?

I guess that's a cultural thing. In the western cultures, cute things (cute toys, dolls, decoration, clothes and so on) are only for girls. Male and/or older people are not expected to wear cute stuff, look cute or scream "ssweeeeeet" at the sight of cute animals.
Cute things are nice, of course. But if you're not a girl, you are expected to suppress that you like them. That's just another stupid rule.

Ignore it. The only thing in the world that has my undivided attention 24/7 is my little yorkie.

If someone tells you to be emotionally against cute things.. that says a lot about that person's own behavior I think. Must be some fake-tough guy. :D

Well, that's certainly a strange thing to tell somebody...I LOVE cute things! Always have....Pooh, My Little Pony, Disney characters, plushies, kittens, puppies, Sanrio characters, pink things, stuff like that. :D I don't think you should have to be "against" cute things simply bcuz someone tells you so...I could never do that, myself! I love my cute things too much.

Well I'm hardly what you could call a sissy, I used to be a punk rocker, became a biker for a while, and still have a love of rock music and motorbikes (though I don't ride one anymore)

Yet as I type this my pet rabbit is sat in his usual place under my chair, he is the best pet I've ever had, cute, fluffy, very quiet and very loyal (he follows me all over the place). I don't care if people think he's too cute for me because I have enough self confidence to not feel as if I need to prove my manhhood :)

That doesn't make any sense...what was said, exactly, and by whom?

Was it someone's way of saying "you're too old for" this or that and you "need to grow up"? NEVER listen to those types of people. They don't know what they're talking about.
