I remember being vaccinated when I was a child. I am the only one in my family of 8 that has been vaccinated and have aspergers.

I can understand how you came to that conclusion but in reality that is pure coincidence. It has been proven that vaccines such as the infamous MMR vaccine are not connect to autism. If it helps Everyone in my family was vaccinated and only my brother and I are Autistic.

I was but so was everyone else in my family. I have recently heard that they have found that the supposed correlation between vaccines and autism/asd is not true. I don't know one way or the other if it is but I know a whole lot of people who were vaccinated and don't have a trace of either one.

Yes, I was, and I still get yearly flu shots. Influenza is not something you want to mess with when losing a week of school could set you back for months.

My littlest sister was not vaccinated, and is as autistic as I am. She'll probably have to be vaccinated against all of that when she leaves home, and I don't envy her for having to get all those vaccines in adulthood. She's going to have a sore arm for a year.

(For the record, any link between autism and vaccination has been disproven. Autism is largely genetic, with possible environmental influences from problems like prematurity, fetal alcohol syndrome, poor maternal nutrition, and congenital rubella syndrome. In the case of autism related to congenital rubella syndrome, vaccination actually prevents autism.)

andrew wakefield is an absolute plank for what he did to autism awareness and generations of children.

they only started doing the MMR in nineteen eighty nine [?], the rest of us got it in singular form at different dates so it wasnt one big blow to the system;not that this causes autism but it coud have possibly had an affect on the body in other ways.
am not sure which one of them it was but had began to regress and also developed severe lifelong epilepsy-all started exactly around the same week,and mum likes to blame it on the injection as opposed to coincidence.

I've been vaccinated, but so has my NT brother and father.

My dad's generation was the last to get the smallpox vaccine. His scar from that is as big as a nickel.

I'm just happy that all my needles have been small.

The erroneous link with vaccination comes from the way child development and milestones are monitored.
Typically a mother would have her child vaccinated and assessed for reaching milestones around the same time, so both the vaccination and discovery of Asperger's symptoms occurred at the same time.
Two things that happen at the same time with no known connection is called a coincidence, and it happens all the time in nature.
As Jack White said; you can't take the effect and call it the cause.
If you went around doing that, you'd be liable to say that flying kites causes thunderstorms - thinking of Ben Franklin and his famous experiment!

Yes, I was vaccinated. But I seriously doubt whether it has any correlation to anything or not.

I was in the first group of children to be vaccinated back in the 60's. They lined us up in the school gym and gave all of us the shots using air guns instead of needles. I didn't start speaking until I was 3 and got the vaccinations after I was already speaking.

I got double dose of childhood vaccinations.

Before first set, my autistic traits were verry merry berry obvious, e.g. lack of speaking.

After second set, my autistic traits started to moderate, e.g. speaking.

It must have been moar moar moar vaccinations that made me moar moar moar unautistic and higher functioning...

I got all my vaccinations including small pox. My mom noticed some odd and frustrating (to her) things about me before vaccinations, including the infamous vacant/dead eye stare from birth, that I rolled everywhere, and rocked my crib all before vaccinations like I said. She tried to get help from doctors but back in the late 60's to mid 80's the line was that it was normal and/or I'd grow out of it. Haven't yet lol But haven't pursued a dx. No health insurance and AZ docs are pretty unqualified in the area of Autism in kids let alone adults.

My brother was vaccinated with everything but smallpox since they stopped giving those the year after I was born. He is NT.

I grew up in the 60's USA, everybody got shots for everything. Vaccines didn't make me autistic, it was those Jerry Lewis movies.

Yes I am. Everyone I know is vaccinated and I am the only one with PDD-NOS/Aspergers. So, pure coincidence indeed

Both me and my brother were vaccinated; we are both autistic.

But there's a difference: my mother said that before the vaccine my brother's traits weren't visible, and he looked mostly like an NT child, a gifted NT child. Then he developed CDD, no one knows if because of vaccines, trauma or who knows what else.
But, my mother says that even before the vaccine, my traits were obvious, and didn't get any worse or better after it. Same was for my father, who has a lot of AS traits.

Also my mother has been vaccinated and she's an NT.

Most people are vaccinated. So yes I have-including for chicken pox. But so has everyone else I know.
