That sounds incredibly similar to Far Cry 3.
Also, Joan Carver sounds a lot like Jack Carver from Far Cry 1. :P

I didn't like Far Cry 3, but I could see the potential. It would be great if it were used as a framework for a better game.

FPS games are a dime a dozen these days - I don't think another one is going to make much difference.

I don't actually see this working out. Maybe try writing it in a book format?

I think you'd have more luck getting your own dev team together than you'd have petitioning a big name publisher to make a game for you.

I hate to break it to you, but the last thing that big-name game developers need is amateur or semi-amateur game designers.

If they want game designers, then they can easily advertise for people with both experience in game design (so they can see examples of previously created successful games which the person has designed) and relevant qualifications (such as a degree in Game studies and development).

Many people with both relevant qualifications and experience are being turned down for such jobs however, as there simply aren't the same number of people required to design a game usually, as would be needed to say do programming labour, or slog through a section of a game repeatedly testing it for glitches.

The normal process would be to get qualified as a game developer/designer, then begin as a bug-tester before working up the ranks within a company from there.

The OP would be better off to petition for Dungeons & Dragons to be re-invented.

I guess that the OP could always set up an independent game company, hire some programmers to code their game, designers and artists to make it look good, bug testers etc. and then (having produced a demo of the game) approach assorted financial backers with their idea for 'Generic mainstream-style Army Game X' ; in order to see whether there are any takers who would finance further development of the game to completion point.

Honestly though, I reckon it would be a massive financial sink-hole.
I don't mean to be harsh, but I think that it would be unkind if I weren't honest about the future prospects for this game design.

Sorry to be blunt, but it sounds fairly generic to me, so not signed.

Considering most action/shooter games are extremely derivative I wouldn't harp on that too much. It has enough novel ideas to be different. I enjoy those type of games and find them all to be pretty much the same game with a different skin. Doesn't stop me from enjoying as long as it's a GOOD GAME. I like a lot of those ideas.

The only thing I would change is the sub title "You are screwed." Unless it's a play on words in reference to some aspect of the game, I wouldn't use it.

Also there is a game called Omerta: City Of Gangsters. A completely different game in every aspect, but a different name would lead to less confusion if game titles are being thrown around in a conversation for example.
