I used to have a Nokia cell phone that if I left it on at night, it would suddenly light up the whole room and wake me. Annoying, that!

Yes. Gah. Especially flickering lights. I couldn't sleep with a flashing light in my room, either. Actually, I just tie a blindfold around my eyes now; there are so many things that would keep me awake otherwise.

I can't stand flashing or flickering lights. I usually have to put my laptop and cellphone into a drawer at night so they don't bother me. At college by dorm room is level with the walkway outside so there's a good bit of light from street lamps and the shuttle that runs past it until 2 am. I have to use a sleep mask at college if I'm going to sleep at all. The fluorescent light in my kitchen at home drives me bonkers. I try to keep it off as much as possible if I have to work in there.

Since I have triggered epilepsy, flickering lights are a serious problem for me. Any kind of light while I'm trying to sleep annoys me, and I always turn my phone upside down to avoid the flashing notification light. I am also extremely sensitive to brightness...I wear sunglasses outside at all times during the day, regardless of cloud cover. The lighting contrast between scenes in movies is disorienting and gives me headaches/dizziness; consequently, I cannot watch movies in complete darkness...I always turn the lights on low. Having dimmable lights is so important to me.

I feel like I'm going blind...

I don't particularly like flashing lights either as it does my head in.

I can't stand being behind a car that has its indicator on, even when we're stopped at a light. The blinking steals my attention away completely. It's like I'm being hypnotized.
