The view is doing a show at 11:00AM on Autism. I was there while they taped the show and helped provide them with information. They focused mainly on low functioning autism, but had Temple Grandin on.

I would like to watch it, but don't have/care for cable TV - will someone get a torrent going with it...?
And are there any other shows or interviews online that you could recommend? I'm curious about the questions asked by NTs.
Peace,
*K

I got hungry and walked the store and miss the first 40 minutes
of the show. I saw Temple Grandin's segment though. I seen her
in the past many years ago and she seemed alot more lively on TheView.

It was funny how Rosie mentioned alot of the guys in Silicon Valley are on the spectrum. I need to start working on my c++ programing. :)

I didn't watch the show, but Kirby (notice how his name is similar to curebie) has already posted an article about it on Huffington. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-kir ... 39877.html

So apparently they kept Kirby on a leash. (He is the guy who wrote the Evidence of Harm book.) Although in this article he implies they really want to discuss the mercury/autism issue. So this is something to have to keep aware of and perhaps even if people aren't thrilled with the show - send a note to them for not allowing the curebies to run wild. Because I'm sure the curebies are emailing them in great numbers.

I watched the view today and I thought that the show was great. There is something I don't understand. They showed a family who's son was diagnosed early and they started him on ABA therapy. They said he was cured. I didn't think you could cure autism. I am bi polar through meds and therapy I function better but I will always be bipolar. I know mental illness and autism are two different things but I'm just trying to understand. Is there anyone who could help me understand it better? Thanks

I don't know what the ABA therapy is. But I have talked to mom's who swear their kids were cured of autism through antibiotics or antivirals because they said it was caused by an infection.

I was only able to see the last twenty minutes of the show. A friend called our house to let us know it was coming on, so my husband (who's working from home today) was able to see most of the show.

I would like to see all of the show -- is there any way to get a download? I looked on ABC's site, briefly, but couldn't exactly find a download (they only had clips)?

Hey cags what part of canada are you from?
I'm pretty sure from what i have read and researched you can not cure autism it is a life long illness. There are ways to treat some of the symptoms my 8 year old son is on 2 medications which help him to focus and settle down so he can learn in school. the other helps with his temper and agression.

There is a group of people who feel that they can "cure" their kids through drugs, vitamins and certain types of therapy. My personal theory isn't that they've cured their kids, they've just gotten them to "act more normal."

I watched a few of the clips of it on their site, couldn't get the Temple Grandin parts to work though. :( From what I saw it kind of annoyed me how they kept calling autism a disease and it just had this negative vibe to it.

Er...I don't like The View anyway.

he was sitting in front of me (we were all in the expert panel). Rosie told him she didn't know why he was even invited to the show.

I wonder if somebody behide him injected novocaine into his spine
with a needle hidden in his umbrella to cause temporary paralysis?
