Looking for Logophiles
Greetings everyone,
An initial thank you to the underlying forces at work maintaining this forum.
I am BragiBird and I am a logophile, a lover of words. I am looking for people (or, in all likelihood, a person) that shares this fascination.
This logophilia is of the particular type, however, where I cannot only watch words and notice their relevance here and there; I have to make use of them, breathe life into them, and have some footsteps upon the many unlikely lingual pathways to expressing a given thought that I have.
I shall be explicit, then, and state that I seek someone:
> That does not mind being spoken to with arcane, and occasionally archaic, words.
> That does not mind being spoken to in rhyme or with convoluted walls of text.
> That, with hope, would like to have a go at doing this, as well.
It should be made clear that:
> I am fully aware that language, in any practical setting, should be as clear as possible (to the extent that matters are not oversimplified).
> I comprehend and, indeed, appreciate that eloquence can be obtained without recondite words or complex sentences. I consider them to be two different schools of eloquence, incomparable with one another, and I happen to like both of them.
> I explicitly train the ability to speak in the mentioned manner and won't be disingenuously humble about it (i.e. "I thought everyone could do this?") or expect others to be able to do it with no effort.
> I recognise that intelligence is far more than this (setting aside the matter as to whether or not this manifests intelligence at all).
If you are interested, let's talk (by text and completely anonymously, should you wish it so) via Skype.

Aslake your pavidity and let's chat.

P.S. I was directed here and hold no preconceptions about people on the autistic spectrum. I'm just looking for a rare type of person.
You sound really awesome, but I don't have the RAM to process more things at the moment.
I'd love to learn how to speak in 3rd person in rhyme. That would be fun.
On a side note, I find myself randomly using big words and I think that's an aspergers thing, and that's the closest thing I get to what you're describing. Also I write, and I wish I was better than I am with writing, right now with the writing, but understand that there are no shortcuts to that experience. But I figure a mastery of language wouldn't hurt.

Why not get to know people here first?

Hmm. That's a good point. I think the issue is that I would like an opportunity to speak in a particular way that I cannot do (or more appropriately, should not do) in the forum.
I also think that people will behave different, especially given a title or reputation, in this more public setting to how they would in a private one to one discussion.
We advise members to get to know people on the forums first, before becoming involved with private off-site discussions.
I'm not suggesting this is your intent - but requesting a private discussion, off WP, in the first post made here is normally something only scammers or trolls do.
