I've been wanting to go back on using my Abletion live intro (it still needs to be activated godDAMNIT), since actually I did a ton better with making my first chillout tune Sun and Rain on Christmas Day (this song can be found in the full page for the soundcloud address I posted in my signature) and, as you will listen, you probably will be just as satisfied.
If you got to my address and was able to have a listen, or at least have made a basic techno piece of your own, I'd like to know what your honest opinion is on using Ableton, especially if you've been starting on it or even if it brought you further into the depths of where you felt like going in encountering good music making. Anyone?

Hello :) this is actually my first post here, and being really into music-making and sound design AND using Ableton Live 9 as my main DAW I felt that this was a good place for me to start.

My input to the matter is that all the DAW's do pretty much the same things, but their focus is very different. Basicly meaning that whatever DAW "speaks" to you and you take the time to get to know well will always work for you and be an extension of your mind.

I prefer Ableton because of the GUI basically.. it speaks nicely to me and I like the organisation and I like the work-flow it lends itself to...
it feels like a DAW for the digital age and not as I feel when using Logic or Cubase, that they are "ports" of MIDI sequencers.. I know they aren't (or in some way they are...) but it is the feeling I have...
Other than that, I work heavily with audio-manipulation and I really like the directness of Ableton in that respect.. all the tools are right there and I can do alot of stuff without ever going into any awkward menus ;P

I have been using (to various extent) pretty much all the DAW's there is.. and Ableton (paired up with Reason 7) is my best friend of the bunch

So yea.. hope that helps abit, and should you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
