So, I've just recently discovered this Asperger's syndrome. Since researching it, talking to some aspies, I've just noticed so many similarities between aspies. So, I wanted to take a few stabs in the dark to see if any of you do some things that I do

Press the numbers on a telephone or remote control, in a sequential pattern, going only to one hundred.

Enjoy cutting paper

Close your eyes tightly to make visual patterns appear

Tense up your ear-drum to listen to the vibration it creates

If you have nasal congestion, and attempt to blow your nose, mucus escapes from a duct near your eye.

Feel free to add your own curious traits. I'm almost expecting someone to say they do all of these things, but these are what I consider the quirkiest thing about me.

I do these two things, as well. I also have ringing in my ears and enjoy concentrating and making it seem louder and louder. This helps me block out annoying noises more easily.

One of my ears also quirks slightly and I have the habit of raising either one or both of my eyebrows.

I do all that, plus I crack all my joints pretty much because of stiffness but sometimes out of boredom(fingers, toes, wrists, elbows, neck, knees)

if Im holding a coin or a card, I flip it obsessively between my fingers like rolling it from the left to right and back.

I flex my nostrils as well(difficult to explain)

Yeah, sometimes when I'm bored with my math work I'll just press the buttons of the calculator in order like you said up to one hundred. I also used to do the eye-closing thing, but worried that it would hurt my eyesight and have since stopped. You're right, though; it's amazing how many similarities are out there.

I also sniff a lot, and don't blow my nose.

It would be hard to list every little unusual thing, but I found that many ARE common among aspies, but NOT NTs!

I've been known to screw around with the numbers on a phone and make little songs. And when I was a kid I used to cut up paper all freaking day.

Is anyone else here like me in that they find white noise soothing? Speficially, the sound of after hours AM stations? Sometimes when I'm driving somebody around out of habit I'll turn it to a white noise station and it drives that person crazy.

Well the one thing about closing your eyes tightly to see patterns is what I do. I always see a green spot.

I hate it/ I also hate the sort of crackly ringing from the TV and computer and such when it's on. no one else seems to hear it...

With me, it is more like a green pattern that can change.

If I let it go long enough, they can fly by and may even have videos that may be in color!

Unfortunately, if I concentrate on it, it tends to fade away. 8-(

Anyone else use their teeth (the really sharpies) to tear small (really) from the insides of their mouths to to feel the slightly adhesive quality of thesse between their teeth?
