The people I had issues with usually had issues with me first. They were always mid-level management types, whose sphincters clenched anytime somebody did something differently than they were used to.
They would say things like "I want workers who think outside the box" and then proceed to crush anyone who exhibited creativity or a free spirit or proffered an idea that didn't fall in line with their grand plan.
yes, saying you want your employee to exhibit creativity or initiative and then punishing them when they do it seems common. My work has those people in it.
the people I have issues with are the people that say "do that job like this" and then months down the track tell you off for doing the job the exact way they told you to do it all that time ago.
Also those people that spread rumours about you behind your back. and those people who come to work with the primary goal of making life worse for everyone (these people also seem to be the boss' favourite).
