I know of a way to get you to run a one minute mile. Try falling out of a hayloft into a pig stye and onto a sow who just gave birth.

You are seriously motoring there my man!

Never tried to do only 1 mile at max pace as I do longer runs but did recently try and do a fast 2.5 miles and my pace was 7:46, Might be able to get that down to 7:00 or just below for a mile I guess but sub 6 minute is another world to me!

That's really quick. As the above poster, I'd run it in about seven and a bit, but that would be part of a 5 or 10K. I'd never run just a mile. Six or under, wow.

Men's world record is 3:43.13. That's crazy.

18 months ago I ran a 5:06 1600m race in my final track meet. Several months later I developed some health issues and had to stop running for a while, but got back into it recently. I ran a 5K a few weeks ago and my first mile split was around 6:00 so I'm getting better again.

I'm sure I can do it and may have done it a few times in the past week, but I never time myself.

you're a guy right?

female, I can probably do one mile just about under 6...perhaps a bit longer than one mile, but two miles is a stretch for now at that pace :) it's a goal of mine though

keep going everyone! :)

That's damn fast. 8)

I've run at that 10mph pace for 1-2mins at a time on a treadmill while varying pace, but I've yet to tackle a 6min mile. It's on my goals list, though. I've been doing a lot more longer distance jogging. I ran 9.xx kms this evening - outside, in the dark. 8) I didn't time myself but it wasn't all that quick. Still a healthy run, though.

I have 17:50 on my fastest 5k. A bit crappy if you ask me. I would be satisfied with sub 16's!! !!Something reasonable like 16:50 or even 16:55.

I can run a mile in about 5 mins 58 seconds, and sustain it for about 12 minutes. I generally aim for slower pace, longer distance though (around 7 mins per mile for 10k on average).

I hold sub 6 minute 45 second mile pace for Half marathon, Sub 6 minute 30 second pace for 10km and sub 6 minute pace for 5km. I currently run a marathon is sub 7 minute 15 second pace and I would like to break 3 hours in a marathon. My PB for HM is 88 minutes, 39 minutes for 10km and 18 minutes for 5km. I would like to crack 84 minutes in HM, 37 minutes in 10k and get sub 17 minutes in 5k. I only run 20 miles per week during training. If I can build up my weekly mileage to 40 to 50 miles I should be able to run better times in 5k, 10, HM and Marathon.

My fastest mile pace is 5 minutes 30 seconds and I would like to get closer to a sub 5 minute mile.

I used to be faster, my target is 7:30 a mile for 5-6 miles (My course is flat), I'll try to go below 7 min next time I'm out.
