Hardware wise something that does hurt consoles over the years is the RAM. I recently read somewhere that because the kinect will be mandatory on the Xbox it will have a chunk of its 8gigs dedicated to the kinect at all times.

This will make a monster of a difference as the years progress since it will throttle game developers as they try to use more of the system.

Yeah, you know what, I think the 7th gen consoles could have run Crysis well, even on release, if they just had like 1-2 GB RAM; I even heard somewhere that while EPic Games were developing Gears of War, they showed MS the game running if the 360 only had 256 MB RAM like they had planned and...well, it was bad enough for MS to put 512 MB RAM in all their 360's...Though I still say 1.5 GB shoulda been, man.

I really want a PS4, but didn't get the chance to pre-order one. So I am pretty much screwed until February or later.

Haters gonna hate. It will all boil down to what you prefer--and anyone who brags about how much more powerful the PS4 is, should bear in mind that we won't see any difference in 95% of all cross platform games (as was the case with Xbox vs. PS2 or PS3 vs Xbox 360). We didn't notice that PS3 was more powerful than Xbox 360 before Uncharted, and even the cross platform games that were optimized to run smoothly on the Cell processor, typically looked the same on both platforms.

I remember the dawn of the current generation; back then, everyone loved to hate the PS3.

I'd argue we noticed the difference before that. The reason that the X Box 360 never got a port of Metal Gear Solid 4 was because of the sheer size of the game.

I want both for different reasons ( well, different exclusive games... ) PS4 sounds better all around to me, but I have to get an XBox One for Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Halo 5, Sunset Overdrive, Titanfall and the long overdue return of Killer Instinct...at least KH3 & FFXV will be on both.

I'm simply getting a Nintendo Wii U...2014 probably will be a solid year for the Big N.

I hope it picks up for Nintendo. The software lineup for next year is looking damn solid, Nash, so hope you enjoy your WiiU.
There's a lot of reasons to get a PS4 over XBOX One on launch month. Sadly one of them reasons isn't games :( all the good stuff is delayed!

So reason fall into:

1) The console's look. this is personal preference, and I really see nothing wrong with the simpler Xbox look than the overly complex playstation look.

2) The price. an obvious reason that keeps getting repeated. The video acknowledges the reason why, but then claims that this robbing choice from the player, a kind of dirty move to make Microsoft look worse.

3) Indie support. I noticed the video ignored the fact that the Xbox One will be able to be used directly for Indie game development. LINK

4) Better hardware. I would have liked if the video gave me an actual comparison rather than just using words like "consensus" and "on paper" and only saying what the PS4 can do.

5) For the gamer. Picking parts to make it look like the focus is away from games to make it look like the console is only for people who like "live sports and tv in a big way", the wording used is a little manipulative in appealing to gamers, and bringing up the controller thing like Xbox is doing some big betrayal with the Kinect. And then showing Sony's game focus and saying it is hardcore without any real comparison to what Microsoft said on that topic.

And should I even mention the music that tended to either get calmer or more excited as the person started to talk about the PS4 on any of the topics?

Except there seems to be no real difference as both are using disc based games, and the restrictions only applying to downloaded games where you would need to sign into you account when using a console other than the one the downloaded game is on. LINK

thomas81 wrote:

Incorrect, check the link I posted above,

thomas81 wrote:

This was removed ages back to only a day one necessary update, hardly an inconvenience.

thomas81 wrote:

Again not needed LINK, although you although there is this sophisticated technique called putting a towel on a camera.

thomas81 wrote:

Well I don't quite know what to say about that, but I know that my Xbox 360 can connect to my laptop with things like media centre and such, I see the Xbox One having more PC support.

thomas81 wrote:

The degree after 360 is surprise surprise 1. One also has 3 letters, it is the 3rd console, and it has the strategy of being an all in one entertainment system. Simples and more creative than just changing the number.

Got anything else?

I have a Wii U, and I can't wait for next year's releases. It's worth it just for Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2 and Super Smash Bros for Wii U ( and the 3DS Smash Bros coming a bit after the Wii U entry...especially since the 2 will connect in some way )..plus who knows what Nintendo will announce at next year's E3 ( which will have something on the new Zelda ) or any random Nintendo Direct....( PLEASE let Mother 3 get an official release.... )

PC is better because you can customize the specs to your liking and it is easy to build one which will beat both the xbox one and the playstation 4. However if you don't want to build a PC with your own hands, get a console insted because all pre-built PCs I've seen are way overpriced. There are other advantages as well such as having all the good stratergy games, mods, vintage games and stimulators. Building a PC is loads of fun to, some people think it's really hard but it only takes 2 days and you learn alot.
