I got my license when I was 26. I'm 36 now, and have always loved to drive...sometimes too fast...
But I can't drive a standard (stick shift), and doubt I will ever be able to, because I cannot process that much info and be able to concentrate on the road at the same time.
If you do drive, what kind of driver are you?
If not, do you wish you did?

I got mine when I was 21. I am 27 now.

I am an excellent driver.

I can't drive owing to the visual impairment that I have. I'm not too fussed anyway as I can simply get someone else to do the driving for me while I look out the window. Less frustrating and more fun.

Didn't drive until I was 27, but that was more down to not finding the motivation to sort out the lessons & such. It was only when I was forced by my work to do something about it that I did.

I drive a manual (stick shift), and haven't had any problems with it. It did take me 4 times to pass my test, but then it took my NT brother 5 times!

I have occasionaly problems when something untoward happens, like if I stall at a junction. Bit of panic might set in if people hassle me, but I usually get out of it OK.

So is that just another aspie stereotype? That we are crappy drivers? I drive 1/2 hr to work each day on one of the wickedest stretches of bendy highway in Canada....I think I do OK, haven't crashed yet...(I did have a deer run into ME, though!)

Nope, I'm 15 and can't get a car liscence. I don't want a car anyway.

I got it when I was 18. (most in the States get it when 16) I don't drive when I need to, considering the bus is free for students.

I drive, and well including 4X4 work. When I was young (gasp!) I rode motorcycles and was fast enough to show a fw others that they weren't as fast as they'd thought.

On the other hand I must admit that if I try to hit a nail with a hammer i am more likely to bend the nail, punch a hole through the wallboard, hit something near to the nail, or in some other way cause a disaster of small proportion.

Oh, and I have leerned to slow down.

I got my when I was 16 and it was the first try. I love to drive and I'm a very good driver. However, when I'm at school I don't have car so I take the bus.
