Hi there,
My name is Bindi & I just signed up obviously.
I live in Victoria, Australia with my partner, my dog, 2 cats, bunny, 2 guinea pigs, and hopefully 1-2 ferrets by the end of the week.
I identify as having Aspergers even though I have not been diagnosed with it- it is difficult when you are an adult, female, and live in the country. I guess the good thing is we do have free/ relatively cheap health care but it comes at the cost of incompitent doctors & long waiting lists.
Had a psych evaluation last week- have to go back next week for the results & by the questions he was asking I'm pretty sure he is going to diagnose me with Bi Polar disorder. I'm not 100% convinced I have it, although my partner thinks I do :P
Definitely have depression, severe anxiety along with a bunch of other fun mental health problems :S
Anywho- that's me at the moment.
Sorry it's not fantastically cheerful- I've been in a crap mood all day & I really don't know when I'm going to snap out of it which is frustrating.
At the moment I'm not on any meds aside from the occasional valium to help reduce the panic attacks so my moods are all over the place.
Thanks for reading- Bindi :)

You know, as an aspie, I'm fascinated with travelling. Not that that's an aspie thing, but just the thought of venturing forward and seeing new lands and peoples intrigues me. It even led to my trying to learn Latvian as a teenager. Epic fail. Anyway, welcome to Wrong Planet. They have all types here and it's nice to be able to connect with someone so far away.

Greetings and welcome to the Wrong Planet. I’ve made a trip beyond the “The Fatal Shore” and found it a lovely place.

Always nice to see Aussies on this site. :)

I've been through the Queensland mental health system. The hospital doctors seemed overworked, but the psychologists, psychiatrists and counsellors in the community were a lot more helpful to me. Plus my GP: he's not the most personable fellow, but he's thorough and takes the time to actually talk things through with me. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right people to help you, but for me it was definitely worth the effort. And yeah, they're either free or relatively cheap in Australia. Thank goodness.
