Although the hack won't effect members computer is would be a good idea to down load and run a few anti spy wear progames from http://www.filehippo.com/ a good one is Ad Aware, and Spybot - Search & Destroy.

I also use AVG anti-virus for viri protection

anti-virus programs are a bad idea. I'm always against installing anti-virus on computers.

And my name is George W. Bush and I will start charging 10 cents for EVERY e-mail EVERYBODY sends for ALL ISPs! :|

IMHO, that statement (and I'm NOT talking about MY STATEMENT) is a "half piece of Doggy Doo Doo" :!:

** Sure...IT IS TRUE that some anti virus programs are "spyware" and "viruses" in disguise! !

** Is NORTON ANTIVIRUS a "virus"?? NO!!

** Is McAffe a "virus"?? NO!!

** Is CA AntiVirus (Computer Associates AntiVirus) a "virus"?? NO!!

** Is your computer highly likely to get infected (or PWNed) by a virus if you don't have ANY virus protection AT ALL?? HECK YES!!

** Do you want to wipe your hard disk "clean" and "start over" EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU GET A BAD VIRUS! I SURE DON'T!

I usually first create an addition windows directory and try to re-install only the core
files that are needed. If that fails I use one of the many hard drives I have and start
a new install. And then set the old drive as a slave and recover data.

But the funny thing is how little of the files I have are really important. The most critical things I have backed up on a PDA sdisk plus I have a number of cd-roms with
XP, drivers, etc.

Oh I learned to do things this way from college (were the labs are riddled with virus).
You must have a backup plan assuming the worst case situation and a virus
detection program can not handle the worst case situation(a virus that its never seen).

All anti-virus porograms detection libraries are amends every day (at least AVG is) so if you do get a new virus (very unlikey) that the AV prgram does not reconise today it will tomorrow.

Virus, as per their name, copy themselves so making a new folder and delete the old one does not remove them. Viri no not use windows directories

Yeah as for as I know I have never been hit with a virus at home. My registry was
"damaged" by some spyware and I got a message telling me to buy some software to
fix it. So I did a new install.

2 years ago Install a program that had hidden spyware. That was impossible to remove so I reinstalled everything.

I did use f-prot in my windows 3.1 days.
