I'm pushing myself to get out of bed, get dressed, and go to work. I just want to take a nap forever, even though I was moving around this morning cleaning up.

What kind of work are you doing? If you're struggling with depression, getting up in the first place can be an accomplishment.

I do it because sitting at home all day gets depressing and is the only thing that is certain to be a dead end for my life in every possible way. With my new job I am at least getting out there, making progress in one way or another, getting life experiences, making an effort to improve my life. If I sit down and think about it hindsight, even a bad day at work is better than having done nothing and waking up long into the day which I'd do otherwise. I've got nothing to lose anyway.

If I hold still very long I get all cold and really depressed. Not getting anything done has other bad consequences for me as well, but sometimes it's very difficult to do what has to be done.

My 5 year-old aspie boy. If I give into my want to stay in bed/home all day, when it surfaces, and not face the world then how can I help teach him to do it?
