yeah, its pretty much not valid for anything other than entertainment and telling you how you are supposed to be, because the correct answers are completely obvious, and if people know the correct answers, they will exagerate themselves. I tried to be as honest as I could, and I got a 94. But I actually think I have a very HIGH emotional IQ. But that test is asking more about how well you express yourself or how positively you think about yourself than asking how well you understand emotions in general. Someone can have a very difficult time acting in social situations and yet understand others emotions and motives very well. Also, someone can have very negative thoughts aobut themselves yet understand themselves very well, yet simply by having negative thoughts, according to this they have low emotional intelligence. Like the quesiton about having dead ends in life. Well some people are honestly going through a rough period. Worried about things others don't think about? Well I actually HAVE problems others don't have, so its not an issue of worrying about things that don't matter, just because they don't matter to other people.
I like the meyers-briggs test and tests like it. I took a very interesting one similar to it though I don't remember what its called, but it divides people into 4 categories and each has a color. I did this in a group where we split up and went with people of the same color, and it was amazing the similarities between the people in my group.
I don't think you can rank emotional intelligenc on a one dimensional numeric scale. Everyone has a different type of understanding of emotions, so to say one understanding is higher than the other, without all the factors, is misleading. Of course some people truly do have lower or higher emotional intelligence, but its a LOT more complex than just that.
