Does anybody know of grants and scholarships in the US for people on the spectrum, or who want to work with people on the spectrum?

Your best bet is to check/register with your school's office of accessibility. If anybody will know what's available, they should.

I recently won a $5,000.00 scholarship I would never have known about except via my office of accessibility.

I did some research and most of the scholarships are either piddly (less than 1000) or meant for people who doing continuing education programs for those with severe mental impairments. And no, you can't take those, because they're funded specifically for those continuing education programs.
