Whatever happened to being sent to your room with no dessert?
When they are in prison they should only be allowed grape soda to drink for the entire stay.

No executive summary?

I've already heard of this case. Drive your electrolytes too low and this is the likely outcome.

It appears to be intentional to me. Like they researched it then did it. Who else would ever think to punish their kid by making them drink 2.5 liters of grape soda for any other reason than to kill her?
:x

That's just wrong... Thankfully, she's now in a better place away from her parents.

Humans tend to be quite creative when it comes to devising ways to harm each other.

What was this "punishment" supposedly for?

Dont recall seeing that in the article.

I mean- the cliche soaping a kids mouth for saying naughty words- has a (maybe twisted) logic.

But what infraction would lead a parent to think of forcing thier kid to drink half of gallon of soda pop? Where did THAT idea come from?

From the news article:

Quote:
An investigation revealed the girl had been forced to drink approximately 2.4 liters of water and soda over one to two hours as punishment.

Child abuse stories like this f*****g sicken me. This is yet another reason why people who want to procreate should be legally obliged to take parenting courses and get licensed before they do so. Fail to complete the course before your kid is born? Your kid goes into professional, state-run care until you can prove you're a worthy parent. Have all the sex you want, but make sure it doesn't result in a pregnancy, unless you are willing to become a responsible parent.

Some people can never love their children enough.

And those people shouldn't be legally allowed to raise children.

If only that could be enforced.

Yeah, that's definitely a major problem.
