Informative Lets Plays are often much more interesting and a lot less gimmicky than somebody who constantly shouts at the top of their lungs nonstop like a complete idiot.
This.
Not to mention the unending swearing that alot of them do.... I'm sorry, but this does NOT make you sound more mature. Makes you sound like a 5 year old.
It's very rare that I bother with the really "big" channels... not a particular fan of RoosterTeeth, and I dont follow Pewdiepie.
As it is, I prefer LPers more like Deceased Crab, who never, ever swears, uses humor that isnt extremely crude (which for other LPers often involves, of course, more swearing) and very well explains things that are going on. Typically if someone swears every 2 seconds, I dont bother with them. Though I can understand the occaisional swear in sheer response to something really annoying happening.
I also prefer LPers who do a wide range of games, particularly older games or indie titles.... LPs of the 230957375th major FPS to release, for example, arent interesting.
Some LPers that I like are:
Deceased Crab (as said before, easy to listen to and never swears. Does a very wide variety of games, including alot of older games)
One F Jef (alot of variety with him; stuff like Dwarf Fortress for example, or Mount & Blade. Pretty hilarious.)
CaptainSparklez (probably the "biggest" one I follow. Almost entirely does Minecraft, but alot of extremely modified variations of it instead of vanilla.)
Das24680 (Does mostly strategy games, including the super-hard-to-learn sort like Paradox's "grand strategy" games; Crusader Kings 2, for example. Very good at explaining things and can be helpful for learning games like that)
HCBailey (mostly does RPGs of various sorts. Normally console-style RPGs bore me.... or at least the sort that ape Square's style.... but he keeps them interesting with entertaining commentary and explains things very well.)
There's others, but those are probably the most notable for me.
