I seem to be nervous all the time when speaking to people like at work. When I'm in the spotlight (which isn't that often) I find myself looking all over the room while I'm talking (including people's eyes), displaying too much hand and face expressions, and sort of fidgeting like shuffling about on the seat if I'm sitting, or not standing in one spot if I'm standing (I don't mean pacing exactly, but it's almost pacing, if you know what I mean). I just know that it's a nervous thing, and that waving my arms about and not sitting or standing still when talking is something to take my mind off of my social anxiety a little, otherwise I know that if I stood still whilst talking, I might go red. I hate doing this, and wish there was a way I can learn to stop myself from doing this when communicating. Does anybody else do this?

ps. The only time I don't feel so nervous when talking is when I'm walking along with somebody.

I think I do this, and also find it's better if I'm walking with somebody.

I prefer sitting beside the one I am talking to, much easier for me.

Remember a stand up by Jerry Seinfeld on public speaking.
After a big poll was taken on the biggest fear.
Public speaking was voted the number one worst fear.
Death came in second.
Which means that if you are at a funeral, you would rather be the person in the casket,
than the person giving the eulogy!
