How can I hang out with a new friend I made?

This girl just moved to my city a few months ago and just recently she started talking to me in class. I like her and want to do things like go to the movies, beach etc but I haven't ever done anything like that before. The only times I've done that is when someone asked me if I wanted to come along with them. I feel really nervous and afraid that I will say or do something that will make her not like me any more

Ask her to go somewhere with a group of friends instead of "a date " she'll feel relaxed and won't feel awkward between you .

Like accountinglad said. Try going out as a group. Or suggest there's a movie you'd like to see and see if she picks up on that and comments on wanting to see it. If she's interested in the same movie just ask her if she fancies going to see it with you so neither of you have to go on your own.
