Is anyone on here or knows someone who is on SSDI Disabled Adult Child? Assuming you qualify, I guess you can get it if your parents are receiving SS benefits through either disability or retirement. Unlike SSI, it is not asset based meaning that you can save the money and have more than $2000 in assets.

My question is, is how much can you get per month on SSDI Disabled Adult Child? I'm pretty sure it's based on how much your parents have paid into the system, but wondered if anyone on here could say how much a month they get. Thanks.

The most you can get is 50% of the total amount your parent gets in SS. So, if your mom retires and she's eligible for $2000/mo in SS, they can split it in half, give her $1000 and you $1000. Also, your disability has to have started (and been documented) before age 22.
