Hi everyone. We are English but have lived in Denmark for the last year. I'm mom to Daniel, who is 4 years old & is waiting to be tested for a Development Disorder in the autism spectrum. So far it seems probable that he is an Aspie or has HFA. I'm still in the early stages of learning about this, which is why I have decided to join these forums. I've been lurking for a few days & so far it's been like reading a diary of our own experiences! I look forward to getting to know you, learn from you & share with you. :)

Welcome to WP. Aspie is okay - I have been so for 53 years now, am an architect, poor as dirt and okay.
Study WP to get a feel for all that we do well and all thatr we do not. Your son will need lessons on life including adaptations and work arounds so that he might fit into the world much more than drugs. They may calm but they do not teach skills required to work alongside NTs.

welcome to our tribe!

hi Im new to this site too. I was diagnosed AS 1 year ago and Im married with 4 children. My 2 boys are Autistic my eldest is almost 11yrs and was diagnosed at 21/2 and my youngest who is 4 is still going through the process. I know what you are going through its tough coping with your childs problems and then you have to cope with them being scrutinised by health professionals.Im lucky that I have a great husband to help share the stresses and problems. Good luck and try to remember the positives and be pleased about what he can do without worring too much about what he cant.

What problem? We are right, everyone else is wrong, if there is a problem, it is not mine.

Welcome, just sharing points of view. I am not sure what to make of non-aspies, are you going to cry, or beat me up, now?
