I really like to laugh. Having the ability to make others laugh has always been something I'm good at doing. I really don't have any other way of being social aside from cracking jokes. I've been accused of never being serious, I've also been accused of being way too serious. Its always one or the other, I'm making jokes or I'm sitting in the corner by myself. I come from a very over the top family, they are over the top in terms of joking and teasing. Members of my family find me funny because they know me, but they don't always seem to know if I'm being facetious or serious because I'm very straight faced most of the time. If I'm around people I don't know and I fail at making them laugh ( if I try that is) I get really embarrassed and move away from the crowd. I make a lot of off color jokes and people sometimes get offended. I can't always tell if I've offended someone so I have a tendency to push it too far sometimes. I have a very dark and cynical sense of humor, not everyone gets it. The older I get the more I tell myself to keep my mouth shut. I use my wife's face to guage reactions sometimes, if she's looking at me and shaking her head, I'll be quiet and try to change the subject.

I'm told my humour is very dry! I repeat the same jokes often as well.

I've been told my sense of humour is very dry as well, though when someone is being sarcastic, I usually can't tell.

I like comedy that is smart, clever, witty and acerbic or whimsical and absurd.

Slapstick has it's place, but IMO runs out of road very quickly. There are only so many pratfalls and fart jokes I can tolerate before they're just stupid and not at all funny.

My comedy heroes are Bill Hicks, Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Groucho Marx, Jonathan Winters, Firesign Theater and Monty Python.

I've been told that I've got a good sense of humour - dark and observational. I don't know how I can be funny though and I usually cannot see the humour in my words. I mostly comment out of confusion and it's often these comments that make people around me laugh.

I forgot to add. I will sometimes attempt at humour. Like this conversation between me and my older cousin the other week:

Me: -farts-

Cousin; -doesn't notice-

Me: Hey...

Cousin: Yeah?

Me: Did you hear that nice bit of thunder ejecting from my arse?

Cousin: ...Nice.

I get sarcasm most of the time, but I do miss it sometimes. It has to be plainly obvious that the person is being sarcastic. The episode of South Park "sarcastiball" paints a perfect picture of what kind of sarcasm I find humorous. I also enjoy comics like Louis CK, George Carlin. They appeal to my cynical nature.

The other day, my grandma and I were grocery shopping, and I went to move a cart full of cantaloupes out of the way. A lady who worked there came up to me and said "Oh I'm sorry, was that in your way?" I couldn't tell whether she was being sincere or sarcastic, so I apologized a few times for moving the cart without looking at her, then moved away. I'm horrible at knowing if others are being sarcastic, although I think I can be at times.

EVERYthing that you said just now can describe how I am.

My humor is very weird. I like surreal humor. The reason I survive in school is because of my constant weird behaviors.

I supposedly have no sense of humor, at least according to my dad and my brothers. Actually, I tend to be toward the absurd, a la Monty Python and Dave Allen at Large, with some Benny Hill thrown in for good measure.
