I am seriously trying to upgrade my current computer as I am running a a257c hp and want to play a game that I got for Christmas (Battle for Middle Earth 2) (LOTR special interest), but can't due to crappy graphics card (geforce mx 440) I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for an affordable computer that would be able to run the new 8600 cards when they are released (PCI-E, $180) Every time I try to build one online I end up at over $2000 and just can't afford it.

If you go to tigerdirect.com and go through all the components a computer needs you run about $1100 for an SLI-ready Core 2 Duo (2GHz) system.

Then just put them together.

If SLI isn't your thing then there are lots of prefabs for under $1000 that would fit your shiny new card when you get it.

Mainly because it's an AGP card and I'm going to switch to PCI-E.

Thanks! Is it difficult to construct your own comp,as I am considering the idea, but my dad thinks that I should just get a prebuilt.
