I always used to use all of the social media sites that were popular but I deleted my Facebook and Twitter about a month ago and my Tumblr (even though I somewhat enjoyed it) this past week. Putting up this post actually reminded me to remove my Instagram, which I just did. It is very relieving and the only reason I still have a Pinterest, Soundcloud, and WeHeartit is because I don't know how to get on and delete those, which I was already not using. I have other accounts on other sites I've deleted multiple times, too. I kind of feel bad about it but I don't want it to interfere with my life. I only use forums now, so idk.

What do you guys think? Anybody else delete social media or don't have it?

Actually, I just found a way to delete my Soundcloud, Pinterest, and WeHeartit :D

I have facebook, but I only use it to keep up with what my parents, siblings, and old classmates are up to, since I don't text or call anyone. I rarely post or comment. Some times the animal shelter adds a picture or update that I "like" but that's about it. I'm not sure what any of the other sites are, except twitter. lol

i'm definitely a freak in this regard, at least compared to most other people i've met IRL; perhaps not so much compared to others here who are more socially isolated like i am. i use an IM to chat with my brother/bff, but that is the extent of my social networking online: i don't use facebook or twitter or anything else. i tried facebook for a couple of months 4-5 years ago now, but i gave it up and deactivated my account because it made me feel weird; hard to explain how, it just struck me as strangely narcissistic and stalker-y somehow simultaneously. i just don't get it, so i knew it wasn't right for me.

when i meet people now and i tell them i don't use facebook, i get the strangest baffled looks and puzzled "why not?"s from them. i don't know how to answer without coming off as a snob. i really just don't get it.

Facebook has grown on me, hopefully unlike a tumour.

Aside from being a great way to keep in touch with people at arm's length, there are one or two groups that I'm part of that are quite useful and entertaining. It's also a good way of sharing music, and acts as a reasonably decent RSS feed for some of the science / gaming / tech rags that I like to read.

Never understood the point of Twitter, or any of the other social networking nonsense that's out there.

I despise social media. I don't understand many of the jokes or what they are talking about with all those emoticons and slangs and I have no idea what to do (oh crap they tagged me here, like, share or comment? Why? Comment what?)
plus it is a constant sort of anxiety (everytime I open it)
but unfortunately I have to have it as people decide college stuff by Facebook. If I could I would get rid of this thing.

I have Facebook and Twitter. I mostly use FB for turtle stuff and am seldom on Twitter. I have a G+ account but haven't been there in ages. I don't have Tumblr, MySpace, Instagram, or Pinterest, and I've never even heard of Soundcloud and WeHeartit.

It's sort of like a psychological need for validation to me. I have been tempted at times but never joined any social networks so far. Doubt I ever will.
Might join a photo sharing site one day to enable me to post pictures on WP. The only other forum I use allows uploads from my computer so have never had a need for more till I came here.

I have absolutely no account anywhere. I am only on this forum and maybe 5 car forums and that's it. I have no interest in Facebook or any variation out there. It blows people minds when I say that I have none of them. I am 29 and have a handful of aquaintences that I see once in awhile and that's it. Usually only see them when they need something.

I have no need to brag and let people know what I ate, where I went, when I did this or that, how I feel etc. because nobody cares anyways. Just not my thing.

The only thing that it may be good for would be finding a girlfriend, but I would rather meet them in person and see their reaction to see if they were actually interested.

I do have a Facebook and Twitter. I simply use Facebook to keep up with what my family, friends, and old classmates been doing so far, and I simply use Twitter for gaming purposes.

I have FB nor Twitter and I think that it's not for me. I personally don't miss it at all and besides, it seems to add a lot of drama to many people's lives.

I find it to be one of the best ways for getting in touch with other people who share my special interests. I have been joining a lot of groups lately where I cant obsess over my interests with other people who share my obsession. I also use it for sharing my artwork and meeting other people and networking.

I just see it as a method of passing time when I'm bored I think in general people that post things constantly are attention seekers and our doing it for likes . when I post something I'll only get a few likes when people just like other peoples stuff because of their popularity not by the quality of the thing they post

I use Facebook and Twitter mainly because of the groups I'm in because we can talk freely about anything. In fact 90% of my socializing now is done between those 2 sites.
