Hello, everyone! My name is Dayton, I'm 20 years old (soon to be 21 in July), and I live in the DFW area of Texas.
My hobbies (maybe I should call them "fascinations") are drawing, sculpting, martial arts, and the occasional video game.
Interests include various sciences, ancient and mythological histories, engineering (which has also translated into toy design), and some varying franchises of shows, games, and so on.
I'm here to socialize, seek advice and insight, and generally get a better understanding on aspergers, as well as be in a place with others that can be a bit more understanding of these matters.
I haven't been officially diagnosed, I suppose, though it was a family friend who is a psychologist who finally pointed my parents in this direction - I'd figured I had it for quite some time.
Going into specifics, I have a great fascination for space, functioning clockwork, old keys (even I'm not sure what that one's about, but I love them regardless), metaphysics and the paranormal (namely ghosts and similar things), and the Super Hero themed shows from Toei Productions (takes a bit to explain them, though).
My favorite musicians are Helios, Xela, the composer Yanni, Dionysos (a French Band), Daft Punk, Madeon, and Damon Albarn. Lots of French artists, I realize. Not sure what that's about, really.
My favorite books are A Clockwork Orange, 1984, Great Expectations, and some other things I've forgotten the titles of.
I sorta' already mentioned my favorite movies & shows since most of them are by Toei Productions, but specifically, they are Kamen Rider, Metal Heroes, Wakfu/Dofus, QI, Gatchaman, Mushi-shi, Top Gear UK, and the Graham Norton show. Oh, and Gaki no Tsukai.
I used to play the violin and guitar, and I'd really like to pick up the first again some day.
The only sport I really enjoy is Martial Arts, which I mostly just study and practice in my free time.
I have a younger brother (who may also have aspergers), a father whom I currently live with, and a mother who was recently remarried (so a step-father as well).
I wear mostly the usual jeans and t-shirt, but I also like to wear dress shirts, vests, and ties, when I can (and it isn't super hot outside, curse this state).
I found this website via my father, who had been directed to a list of sites for himself and to refer me to from a family friend (whom I mentioned earlier).
I am currently a Freelance Production Assistant and Media Asset Manager on video & photo shoots, and I hope to soon begin work making toys and costume parts as a future career!
I look forward to chatting with some of you, and to learning more of how to better deal with the challenges of my mental wiring! : )

'Sup Dayton? I'm new here too, cool to meet someone else new to the forum. You seem like a pretty cool fellow, we have the same favorite movie. Clockwork Orange is a work of art. Also, you like martial arts too, so you've got my attention. I'm more unorthodox than anything else, but it's the fact that you enjoy it that makes you seem like-minded to me. You like Daft Punk, huh? French Electro (if you'll call it that) has been one of my most recent interests. I'd suggest you look up the following bands: Justice, Kavinsky, and M-83. You like space, you're gonna love M-83's videos. For real. Oh, and Mushi-shi is pretty awesome too. I can't help but sing the opening theme every time I hear it.

Nice to meet you, man.

Whoops, seems I got stuck in a time loop , ~ `
Anyways, its cool to see someone with similar interests so soon!
I do know of Justice and Kavinsky, though not too much on M-83. I'll definitely have to check them out!
And yeah, Mushi-shi's pretty great in my opinion! Then again, I also have a fascination for the subject matter, and I usually prefer more mellow anime as well, so I suppose its just one of those things.
I DID actually forget to list my absolute favorite anime, Last Exile - guess I was thinking else where at the time.
Its got amazing art and design work, a gorgeous meld of 3D and 2D, and the world is just so wonderfully interesting to me! I highly recommend it!
