I always hear in reviews WOW! on my second or third play through! of X game! Personally I don't replay games. They are a one and done experience. Counting remakes here too. I've replayed Ocarina of Time (original and 3DS so twice). LOVED Snake Eater one of my all time GREAT games IMO 3-4 times. Personally I have to love the story and gameplay ENOUGH to want to live through it again and again. I don't feel that with many games. Pokemon Silver (original DS remakes too.) Pokemon Black 3 times (Those games I can beat in a few days if I know what I'm doing). I might be a Zelda fan but find the getting stones part or spirits etc. parts of Twilight Princess a chore! Same for Skyward Sword! They put in some sneak by giant statues that I had to google Youtube step by step instructions. PLUS you had to go to the same place 3 times but a little further in or left instead of right (a different direction). Things like that make me NOT want to revisit those Zeldas.

Sometimes it's a level or enemy is hard. While GREAT experiences beating MGS4 3AM Last of Us 4AM (this past New Years for that one). The bosses and gameplay were kind of aggravating just wanted to GET DONE ALREADY! Did now I'm DONE! Not sure I'll do second playthroughs on those.

Some I've continued playing so to speak 100+ hrs. into Pokemon X "Gotta Catch Them All" idea. I MIGHT actually replay Link Between Worlds I LOVED that games dungeon puzzles and world and it only took about 20hrs. Fire Emblem Awakening I want to rush back through then level up my characters and try the DLC packs for fun. Love the chess type thinking gameplay of the FE series overall.

SO? Do you guys replay games? If so which are your favorite to replay? OR not favorite play once and DONE? type of games. :-)

(On IGN someone mention getting through ME trilogy in a week UH WOW talk about having TIME LOL!)

If the game offers diversity in difficulty and play styles, I would replay it if I enjoyed the game the first time.

It depends on many factors, mostly it depends on what kind of game I'm in the mood for.

Also, I'm not counting games like arcade games...obviously you can't beat Dig Dug and never play it again.

But there are some games that are short, like Super Mario Bros. 3, I'll play whenever the mood strikes. Or most of the Legend of Zelda titles. Also depends on how long it's been since I last played the game, I don't usually replay a game right after I beat it...I think Earthbound I probably did (a lot), and maybe Pokemon Red once, just to try to "catch 'em all"...nonlinear games with alternate paths and/or unlockables are nice too, but sometimes I just hold onto the save file and tell myself I'll unlock the rest of the stuff later.

Most of the games I replay are portable games, especially at work during break time.

I replayed Morrowind more times than I can remember. I probably played 1k hours more or less. I've been wanting to pick it up again.

LOL! I got the UBER Rainbow sword for Crono but never bothered with the OMG! multiple endings side of the game. I know history wise WOW! It was the first with multiple endings or so I always hear it held on a pedestal for that MAIN reason. Otherwise it's a GREAT RPG and game one of the greatest in my eyes. Never bothered with that part though. Considering I loved Snake Eater so much I'm tempted to pick of Snake Eater 3D. (haven't yet.) I went ahead and restarted FE:A and plan to get the DLC and tackle that this time around and do relationships for different characters level them up different and so forth LOVE the chess gameplay of that franchise!

I do when I'm in the mood for it. That said, I'm currently replaying the Paper Mario series, as well as finishing off Ocarina of Time 3DS (Master Quest.).

Games I have yet to replay but might replay:
Xenoblade Chronicles (Over 300 hours played, I believe.)
Resonance of Fate
Zelda: Skyward Sword (Only part I dread is the trials.)
Final Fantasy series

I'm also currently in the middle of a second playthrough of No More Heroes for the Wii, getting all the cards and beating it on Bitter difficulty. Plan on replaying it for the PS3, too. Love that game.
Speaking of which, I want to grab the Kingdom Hearts HD versions. I'm sure that'll be more time sunk into games.

Lastly, how can anyone beat all 3 ME games in a week? Isn't each game a week's worth of play in of itself?

Yes but not in the same year. That's why I keep my old consoles. Every now and then I'll play a game I haven't played in years.

Cool! The trials are the #1 REASON I don't redo Skyward Sword same for the "stones/ghosts whatever!" in Twilight Princess!! !! Link Between Worlds has stones but that world was fun to explore so I see myself going through it again plus I feel it had AWESOME dungeons. I got stuck in Xenoblade Chronicles always meant to start that one over and go through it WOW! 300 hrs!! ! Must be great! I'm an RPG lover but never got that far into it. The battle system seemed confusing to me. LOVE FF series but mostly those are one and done but that "ONE" is usually beating 99% UBER side quest bosses getting secret characters UBER weapons etc.! YES I did Chocobo Gold getting Knights of the Round Summon AND Omnislash and kicked Sephiroths Meteor ASS!! !! ! Also fought TONS of dinosaurs on a small island in FFVI to level up my main characters to 99 each GOOD TIMES GOOD TIMES! LOL! FFX too much of a chore to level up! Beat game DONE!! HATED Blitzball thunder all that side quest stuff was a CHORE NO THANKS! :-) Not sure on ME. Someone on IGN mention it that they beat them all in a week and someone said WOW you have too much time on your hands. LOL! Happily bought each for $10 a piece at Walmart!! !! Plan to get my 360 fixed and play them someday. :-)

I do, but then pretty much every single game I play is designed entirely around the idea.

I hate all forms of story in gaming (I seriously cannot remember the last time I saw one where I didnt think that the story was bloody awful. I read waaaayyyyyy too many books and find that game stories are just... bad in comparison, almost all of the time). Cannot stand cutscenes. I find achievements and that sort of crap to be stupid. And I hate low difficulty, which usually means almost every single game that DOES have these elements. God forbid that the player not see the ending of the movie- er, game... that they're playing, without using skill.

Shmups are a big one for me; always played for score, and never, ever using continues. Even when one is "beaten", it's simply not over in most cases.

Roguelikes are another example. Stupidly difficult and extremely randomized in terms of level structures and many other things. It's easy for me to keep coming back to those.

Or sandbox games. Particularly Minecraft, which has about a bazillion things to do, particularly if you like using mods, or trying out the tons and tons of different game types that people have come up with for online play.

Stuff like that, generally.

Yeah I constantly replay games, especially ones that are short. I beat SMB2j 9 times in one sitting last month (though that's one of my more extreme cases). But if I like a game, I'll replay it over and over, especially if it's been a while or if my fiancee hasn't played it (like Kingdom Hearts).

I am actually replaying Fallout 3 at the moment. I replay most of my favorite games about 3-5 times.

Honestly, one could probably spend a lot less time on Xenoblade Chronicles. I'm just the type that likes to explore EVERYWHERE and constantly find every quest available as it becomes available, meaning lots of back-tracking. The fighting system does take a bit of getting used to, but once you think in terms of MMO-type characters (Tank, DPS, Support, etc.), then you'll find it a lot easier to understand. It just comes down to timing. And the wiki helps.

And yeah, Final Fantasy is known for it's side-quests. On the day I go through the FF series (Including the ones I never got around to playing.), I'm not looking forward to FFX's thunder-dodging, Blitzball and whatever that uber-monster farm was called where the only place to get max level was.

I replay games fairly often, especially if something new gets too dull or frustrating.

Games I tend to replay include:

EarthBound ( my favorite game of all time, currently working on playthrough #155 )
Zelda: A Link To The Past
Zelda: Link's Awakening
Zelda: The Minish Cap
Super Mario Bros 1-3 ( via SNES Super Mario All-Stars )
Super Mario 64
Star Fox 64
Star Fox Assault
Chibi-Robo
Metal Gear Slid 3: Snake Eater HD
Chrono Trigger
Kirby Super Star
Kirby's Dream Course
Donkey Kong Country
Half-Life 2 +Episodes
Super Metroid
Super Mario RPG
Paper Mario
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Fallout 3
Fallout: New Vegas
Harvest Moon 64
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody
Diablo III ( Xbox 360 version )
Far Cry 3
Mass Effect
Dragon Age: Origins
Eternal Darkness

Note that I am not counting games with chapter select or any sports, racing or puzzle games. I also don't count Endless Ocean even though I go back to it regularly as I just play around in post game.
