Leon,

I like classical music because you get the emotion of the composer from the notes rather than the words. The music I like best is Bach's organ fugues, Mozart Piano Concertos, and Bethoveen Piano concertos and 7th Symphony 2nd movement.

I actually took a class on Beethoveen in College.

Not every adult likes classical music. That's called stereotyping. It means that you assume just because a few types of people do or like one thing that they all do.

My dad likes all types of music except for rap, and my mom likes everything except for country. They like classical, but I've never heard them listen to it unless you count me playing one of my video game soundtracks in the car when they are driving me somewhere.

As for me, I like Japanese music and video game music. I don't like much music that is in English.

Longer attention spans?

I started to listen to and like it on the radio, because the classical stations didn't have ads and it was soothing. Then I started taping it and buying LPs (vinyl - that's how old I am) and then I got hooked. Just ordered Pagliacci, a nice old version remastered from 78s.

They do usuallyt put the oldies or Lite-Music stations on in the car.

But my mom often puts the classical music station on the radio during middays...if not that, then some dumb CD in Hebrew.

Your mum's a bit of a 'culture vulture', 171 - dragging you to art galleries, classical music 'n all.

Just as not all adults like classical music, not all minors dislike classical music. I'm sixteen and I quite enjoy classical music, especially romantic era composers such as Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmoninoff and Mahler.

Same here. I'm 17 and I like classical music. I don't dance around to it, but I enjoy and appreciate it. I love the versatility of classical music. Other types of music almost always have sort of the same emotions. Classical music can sound like anything. It is also very complex.

Saying all adults like classical music, is like saying all people with AS are geniuses at maths.

I'm in band, that says enough right thee. I don't necessarily enjoy all classical music, but I enjoy a lot. Especially live, while sitting in the back playing Tuba.... relaxing. 8)

When I do these posts I often
listen to classical strings in subtle
posts. Grunge-like rock when
I am feeling angst-like in my posts.
Carpenter's like music when it is
deep and heavy posting. Be it
Classical to Modern Rock, Classical
will always have a place in the writer's
heart and words. This is my take
on classical music and why young and
old listen to it. It is part of the music
spectrum we all grow to love.

Classical is just another genre of music, like rock is. I'm 18 and proud of my taste in music, and I love listening to classical. I even often put some Beethoven between rock songs in mix CDs I make. If you begin to truly appreciate why music "works", you might begin to like classical for the amount of intelligence behind the notes.

I agree with what has been said before. I am eighteen years old and, although I also listen to some rock music, I really enjoy classical music, and have always liked it. I think there are amazing composers, and the music they create is a good way to give a message without words.

I stated in my post that saying all adults like classical music is like saying all people with AS are good at maths.
