What did you think? I am traumatised even though I knew it was coming 8O.

It's not precisely how it went down in the books, but there's some very impressive choreography in the show version nevertheless. The fight is very convincing.

At 0:14 Tywin appears to be smiling.

Be warned that this is extremely graphic.

On a side note, did anyone else catch that Jorah killed Drogo by deliberately infecting his chest wound? Miri Maz Duur gave him specific instructions not to change Drogo's dressings and he did anyway.

Yeah, had read the books too so was not exactly surprised but for whatever reason did not remember all the details of the fight in the book so didn't quite see all that coming. I agree thought it was quite well done. Can't wait for these next two episodes.

Yes. I too knew it was coming from books but I was speechless... Brutal. I felt so sorry for him - I know that he was a fan favorite and though I like the actor he did not get enough screen time to "grow" on me like he seemed to on others but that part when Ellaria told him to not leave her alone in this world and he said never - I was genuinely sad.
t I agree the fight was really well choreographed. And Ellaria's scream and expression was so heart-breaking :(

Apparently the Mountain in real life is the world's third strongest man.

It annoys me a lot that apparently the next episode will be based only in the Wall (I hate Snow and the Wall storyline - it's the only part of GOT I can't stand - not enough complexity and ambiguity compared to other charters and places), so that we don't see what happens to Tyrion.

I was completely traumatized. Even though I had read the books, even though I had listened to the very same sequence on audio only a few days earlier . . .
I found myself nursing this completely idiot hope that maybe the scriptwriters would, you know, take it a different direction. Just maybe.

And then it was such a freaking brutal ending.

Although Oberyn did get a confession out of Gregor. But wow.

It really was such a devastating episode that -- dare I say it? -- it almost made last night's episode (The Watchers On the Wall) a tad anticlimactic by comparison. Even with the mammoths, even with the end of Ygritte.
